This is pretty much a straight copy and paste of a message I've posted on another well-known Puma forum but the sentiment applies to both. I wanted to post and say a huge thanks for all the help I've received here since I joined up - unfortunately both Pumas have now gone on to friends of mine...
Not the easier thing to photograph but a general look over it only found one small dent and a bit of corrosion on the underside of the tailpipe. No other visible damage other than scratches and the odd bit of tar stuck to it here and there. It's structurally sound :)
I can't find the exhaust...
It'll probably be the weekend before I get chance to get the pics together so no problems with waiting - I should have some pics of it on my old car but if not I have an identical one on the Puma we still have so can snap that so you can see how it sits.
I gave the car to a mate but traced the issue down to a corroded / missing pin in the socket that joins the loom in the door to the one in the car. I got the part but didn't get chance to fit it so can't confirm this was the problem but it looks very likely. He'll fix it at some point and I'll...
Sorry it's taken a while to reply, I couldn't logon using my phone for some reason so had to wait until I got home.
No damage that I've noticed but I'll have another good look over it and report back - I'll try and take some more pics too so you can see it from more angles.
I have mounts but...
Welcome aboard the rambling train :)
It looks as though the loom I'm going to need is the one in the car rather than the door, hopefully I can extract the pin that's in that one. I'm now trying to find out how extensive this loom is and hoping it's not part of the main one - I suspect I won't...
And back again - talking to myself but nice to have somewhere to log this stuff and maybe someone else can benefit from it one day.
I revisited the plug that sits between the door and wing and noticed some signs of rust on the passenger side female plug when removed, closer examination suggests...
Back again - I haven't used the car for a while and just remembered this issue when I went out to change the tax disc on it... I've had the door panels off and checked in there and tried the various connectors running from the door into the car and everything seems sound.
I've pulled the 15A...
It is a nice blue but the green loves a bit of TLC and sunshine too :)
Seems a shame to have to kill either of them, no way of making one nice with cheap bits and passing the other one as a bargain for someone else to enjoy as a project?
I'm about to throw some rear seats and door trim...
