FRP 591, FRP replica, plus turbo conversion project

Is there plans to get it in track to show its real potential. Would love a boosted puma, but that's some serious investment.

    Ford Fair - 6th August 2017 - Silverstone

Fantastic day, with nearly every other stand showing their immaculate preened noise machines, was nice to be on a stand with such an eclectic mix of Pumas. Massive thanks to Cherie and Dal for organising

    Door Hanging Pins

Getting pins out is easy, I just wind down window (so easier to handle door) couple of jacks and lump of wood to support and take weight of door, which reduces load on pins, drift and hammer to start then slide 10mm spanner under head of pin, block of wood between floor and centre of spanner, to...

    Ford Fair - 6th August 2017 - Silverstone

Is it convoy from Tescos? I know some of us staying at Premierinn or Marriot the night B4, I would bring my gazebo but seriously have zero space as will have set of track wheels with me, Jerry cans and have another 4 wheels to collect :?

    Driveshaft removal

Only just seen reply, I assumed fact that you had Gearbox end out you realise that a bit of oil can leak out of box. I've never refitted old CV joint, but I clear as much grease as possible with McD's napkins (other clothes are available) then plastic sheet and old towel under joint and blitz...

    Driveshaft removal

There's a spring circlip like thing, you need to put screwdriver into gap and twist to open it up and release, however even if you remove drive shafts hubs aren't affected. I'd just undo hub nut, remove drive shaft complete, put wheels back on. As long as wish bone, steering arm and suspension...

    Stuck wheel nut removal

I''d have thought it would be possible to get in behind remove hub, or even wishbone, hub and leg, then just see about getting another wheel (Looks like standard 9 spoke) and remove nuts with angle grinder or find someone to weld som.ething on for a tenner. Heat from welding will possibly loosen...

    Inner Tie Rod replacement

Just to update, looks like slight play in NS front wishbone bush. When wiggle wheel looked like tie rod, but movement is in bush. Hopefully all sorted and normal service resumed

    Inner Tie Rod replacement

Yes, the play was very small, and garage never even mentioned. The fact there is a few hundred mile gap, is why I'm keeping open to possibility it's unrelated and could be a gearbox mount. I will get Car up and have a good poke around for anything obvious, although it's only noticeable on a...

    Inner Tie Rod replacement

Recently had to replace track rod ends, with car jacked up, on NS there is what appeared to be very slight play in track rod, probably done about 200 miles and now on motorway noticed car has slightly started pulling to right on acceleration, the OS seems to have no play and was stiffer to move...

    Puma Expenses

Must be love, not spent anywhere near that in 2 and bit years on mine, and majority has been tyres and oil. Had belt, water pump etc done, but majority I do myself and have broken s few Pumas to fund. Biggest cost by far is tyres as set of T1R's which were awful, so then went firestone, then...

    Front Wings?

Are you on any of the Puma FB sites, as regularly people put up cars for breaking, either way, a location of where you are may help

    euro car parts

Prices fluctuate all over the place, especially things like oil, Euro always have discount, buying something not on sale is like paying full price for furniture at DFS. Always check Carparts4less which is online only business of Eurocarparts and if you have delivery from Euro, every delivery...

Someone who actually knows what they are doing!?

I tend to take same view, along with fact that I'm attached to Puma, however if you want (usually) minimal depreciation and repair costs get and 05MY Volvo built Volvo* (last build year before everything got screwed up by tighten emission laws and Ford bean counters) As far as finding a decent...

Front suspension - Removal, strip, rebuilding and refitting

I tried that, but my compressors are a bit chunky and space is fairly limited. Top mount bearing was completely shot and old shock just pushed in and stayed in :o

Front suspension - Removal, strip, rebuilding and refitting

Just finished one side after major grief. Ended up taking off hub, fitting in shock absorber then refit complete. For whatever reason, couldn't get leg into hole in hub, once had hub off, was doddle to refit. Other side just going to drop out leg and hub and not bother with the faffing around.
