On a s seperate note...
I had a hoot at Rockingham yesterday.
We were on the National Circuit (there were NASCAR beasts on the oval)
It was sessions, though only 2 groups so 1/2hr sessions, with worked well (no big rush to get on track which causes dangerous traffic)
my group were a 2.0 escort track car, 2.0 MG maestro and clio 182 track car.
All of which were on 888's. (I`m on ex Ginetta Michelin Pilot Sport III`s)
And guess who was quickest
Without doubt, pound for pound, there is no better trackday car than the Puma...
As for the track, its quite technical and not to hard on the car.
Although my repeated attempts to take turn 1, 20mph too fast, means I 'used to have' a splitter...
I really noticed the difference after I had to remove it (in bits), the car didn't feel quite as 'planted' in the fastest parts of the track (80-90mph bends)
I'm sure to replace it, but not a £100 version like the last one (ouch)
and, why is there always a wanker who can't use his mirrors in a £50,000 car?
Should have seen his face when I passed him, going sideways, tyres smoking, in the hairpin...
