Hi, just wondering if anyone can help, i am currently doing a small restoration on my Ford Puma (1.7) but have come across a issue which seems to be a electrical fault but am not 100% sure, the issue i have is the abs and traction control light comes up on to the dash but has now causing problems to the stereo and speedo clocks, the stereo goes on and off and same thing happens to the speedo, the digital mileage clock goes off and sometimes all the dials go off as well, when these issues happen they only last a couple of seconds and then its back to normal but this repeatably starts all over again within a few minutes.

When i bought the car the previous owner said he had the same issue and he taken it to a ford specialist garage to see what may cause the problem, they told him to replace the speedo which he did and told me it cured the problem, i still have the original clocks for the car, which i am thinking of changing as the mileage on the original clocks are very low.

regarding this issue i am not sure where to look,

Hope anyone can help

Kind |Regards

Peter

Welcome along
Firstly...abs/traction control lights....normally indicate a fault in the abs/traction control sensors rather than any actual electrical fault

Stereo on/off and other assorted on/off weird and wacky happenings could point to...bad earth...loose wires.....broken wires....wires missing insulation etc etc.....you may have to go through each item seperately to find the cause/causes.

As for putting original clocks back in because they show a lower mileage, what do you hope to achieve with that exactly?.......not a false low mileage I hope :-(
