So I went to see a Puma again today, for a second time (as some of you may know) and there were a few problems that made me come to the decision to walk away -

First one, we heard a knocking noise from the passenger side rear - We removed the jack which we thought could have been the problem which a lot of people said, and when we went to remove it, it was not in properly at all! We then removed it, but the noise still carried on. We also thought it could be the rear bushes/suspension etc...??

Next problem we had - We heard a noise coming from beneath the car when we opened the windows as what can only be described as a screeching noise! But not like a belt screeching or exhaust blowing, and it only happened above 4000 revs and only started when the engine was warm..

Also, another question I wanted to ask: As I had never driven a puma before, I wanted to know where the bite should be? As this one seemed to be through the roof! It was very high, right at the top, and I wondered if this was normal or whether it was signs that it would need a clutch replacement soon..

If anyone can help I'd be grateful.. Thank you

High biting point would indicate the clutch is on the way out hun.

The knocking most likely a warn bush- not to expenisive to sort

the screeching noise i have no idea- how long does it go on for, does it increase in pitch if your driving?

Well the strange thing is that the screaming only happened when the engine was warm too? But it would just continue to scream, it didn't change pitch etc, just one long scream as it was above 4000 rpm :/

(Seriously fun to drive though!! :p)

Good decision to walk away. If you have ANY doubts about any car, walk away.
