woke up at 7am today to do up her car.

[albumimg]499[/albumimg]

Washed it, Clayed it, wash again, polish, scratch X, wax... entire process took 7 hours. At the end of it, still have got loads to do... the interior is missing loads of small screws and screw caps. wheels need refurbishing as well (does anyone know where I get the paint for the FRP wheels??)

Overall, it is a good little Puma with loads of frp bit on it also pops and bangs as well wink.gif

Well managed to sit down a make a list. Would need help from you guys to source for parts as well as advice on these:

Issues Found:

knocking noise at front wheel area (only heard everytime the car is first ignited and moving off)
gear box (strange joint found on gearbox casing, oil deposits found)
engine oil (black and dirty... claims servicing done 1000miles ago <_< )
rattling when accelerating (from driver's foot well... suggestions??)
vibrating driver's wing mirror (suspected broken internal plastics)
damaged door cards front driver, passenger and rear passenger (sealed/held in place using silicone)
parcel shelf falling off (i know i know... usual fix needed)
missing screw for sun visor (what the??? <_< )
crack inner door handle trim (hmmmmm <_< )
broken door card retaining clips (as usual.... think I will velcro the entire door card trim)
damaged front lower grill
missing strut brace (has holes for them so i guess he sold it off <_< )
engine rocker cover missing badge (sprayed blue... looks like it is from pumaspeed or build)
front wiper trim unbalanced (the black trim which sits at the part where the wipers sit... doesnt sit properly)
rear wing dent (hmmm when did this happen?? <_< )
wheel alignment off (re-align)
paint work very dull (need to keep polishing)
missing passenger side seat trim (buy a new one of fords?? or make one up??)
door trims missing screw caps (hmmmmm)
exhaust hanger missing (get poly hanger mounts)
steering wheel worn (replace with my spare one... current one is off a fiesta ZS? has red leather)
hand brake leaver worn (currently modded with a momo brake lever)
headlamps damaged (sealed using silicone)
headlamp levelling motor not work (not sure if problem with electrics or the motor itself)
headliner clothes hanger installed upside down (<_< )
single cigarette burn in driver' seat, passenger's seat and head liner (<_< )
rusty lower grills (might nee to replace the grills in the FRP front bumper with some aluminium ones)
burnt/heat damaged steering rack plastic (need to heat shield the 4-2-1 manifold)
vibrating steering wheel (most likely wheel off balance)
damaged remote key lock/unlock (unable to lock car using IR)
rusted keyhole in boot unable to open boot using key (nothing I can do about it i guess?? Wd40 perhaps??)
passenger side window missing 1 Puma badge <_<

further things to check:

wheels able to remove?
engine rocket cover able to remove?
state of spark plugs?

Cambelt done at 60k

Oh and if anyone requires a prop wheel, I have one from this car (which is being used as a spare wheel). I am not going to use it so selling it off. (will put post and pic in for sale section later in good condition and tyre is brand new)

Wow that's a list and a half!

Looking good though, hope you can sort all of the niggles out relatively efficiently!

Keep us updated :D And yes that sounds like a ZS wheels

Sounds like it needs some TLC but it couldnt be in better hands :)

You canhave any of my interior bits if they will help

thats a list & a half! cars solid tho & def worth the price considering all the genuine frp bits!!!

its just been sloppily put back together after its (unnoficial!!!) frp conversion.

looking forward to seeing it in good shape soon

frp mesh grilles; elvin il make you an exact titanium copy...!
dont forget im making you an frp gearbox too so thatl make it go better as well.
& il soon be able to make you an frp steering rack.

You'll find that 1000 miles is long enough for engine oil to go black. Unless its got lumps in it then there's little need to panic. Ought to put a properly spaced number plate on it too, otherwise you're asking to have your collar felt.

As for the manifold burning the rack gaiter, you're better off putting some heat wrap on the gaiter rather than the manifold. Check out Al's thread on the other PP for a good set of pics.

It's a good job we're more laid back over this side. People have got banned from "The other place" for trying to be helpful and saying things like that.

:x

But this place isn't run by an deranged Welshman intent on keeping a stranglehold on a community that he has little to no involvement with short of taking money from it to subsidise his advertising

Back on topic, Elvin i'm sure yourself and Jacko will have it how you want it in no time :)

might take some pics of some things I find strange in the car. Helen claims that she is getting loads of attention from other drivers and passer-bys :p

She likes the car so far but due to all the rattling, she says it feels like a antique car with all the bits about to fall off.

how much do I owe you for all that?? :p currently living on my over draft this month

I live on my over draft every month :(
Trying to fix that though!

Keep us updated with the car mate, it does look cool in red from the pics!

one of my (many) jobs is to mesh the grills, but want to see other examples first............ i have a feeling jacko will be taking afew quid of me in the future!

not very impressed with the way the owner is taking care of the car as well as his attitude towards the sale itself.

When I was selling my KA, i made sure everything is in good order and taken care off. I even clayed, polished and waxed the bodywork, vaccumed the interior, wiped the trims and glass. I even washed the seats and cushions a week before using water and washing powder and a tooth brush.

I even cleaned up the entire engine bay and washed the wheels by taking them off and brushing them behind and in front.

Anyway, I think I have rescued this puma from further abuse and hope it is not too late and will last for a few good years.

seeing this red puma has made me more determined to get a wide arch on my black one :p (oh well... start saving for £3k)

you know me elvin....ul have plenty of time to save money!!!!! soooo many jobs sooo little time. oh well; he who dies with the most toys wins! doesnt say anywhere they all have to work.....

the meshes im making are to replace the frp steel meshes dradus....

the first one is nearly complete but is not standard! due to someone at some specialised garage somewhere in brum swearing my frp bumper is genuine id love to know why my genuine mesh is 20mm too short to fit!!!!!!

ho hum, the next titanium mesh i make will be made exactly to geniune spec (to fit my genuine spare bumper!) so i will make a jig & make a few spares while im at it.

having a argument (non heated kind) with Helen

Me: the black one looks more feminine as it is less aggressive looking

Helen: hmmmm... no the red one looks more feminine as it has steeper curves which are like a women's hips/a$$ and chest/breast

Me: grumble grumble

From the way you've written ass, it looks like you have to pay for it :p

I think you're both right...the Puma and FRP are both sexy to women and men but in different ways.

your only trying to talk her into a swap............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i need to look at your steering rack dude! its not frp but its as long as an frp!!!!! im confused!!!!!

i reckon the track rods unscrew & uv got frp ones but they havent put the frp lock travel reducer washers in....
