Blown breather pipe from gear box
Hi. The breather vents straight into the atmosphere as far as I am aware. Check the coil pack or the crank shaft speed sensor, it is located on the front of the engine block right at the bottom tight in the corner near the bell housing flange. I have had instances wher bothe have failed on me and ma...

rear drums to discs
Hi. I run ST170 wheels on my Puma. I had a similar problem with poor hand brake performance. Eventually sorted it. It is a simple yet fiddly job of manually adjusting the a automatic adjusters....on and off with the drum and fine tune the adjustment. It works fine now. It is not doable if you have a...

My Puma (formally pictures at last)
Hi everyone.
GOOD NEWS my Puma passed the MOT no advisories. Mind you I did preventive mechanical work in the summer months, even so with a car of this age and mileage I do get a little paranoid come MOT time. well no need to worry for another 12 months.
Regards,
Richard

Hi Brian, Yes, thanks. I have my spare splitter that I can use as a plug for the making of another mold. I hope to get my car back the end of next week then I think I will look into see what companies I can approach. In the past I think I sold about five splitters to Mk5 Fiesta owners ( they fit ver...

Hi I run Focus ST 170 wheels with 205/40/17 tyres. I also run 30 mm HR hubcentric spacers front and rear, you will need these spacers with the ST wheels, the bearings only load up the equivalent of 16mm spacers. Over the past six years there has been no problems with the wheel bearings. I have also ...

Hi Guys, Thanks for the positive comments. It is in having a cam upgrade and a remap at the moment. A right sorry saga, more in due course. With regard the splitter. When I was working (now retired) a work colleague and myself made the splitters between us. He is not interested in doing it any more....

Hi, I could and would like to put more threads on my Project post but without being able to post photos I really don't think it is worth it. It is such a faff to post photos, It was a right rigmarole when doing it with Photo Bucket. My question is this. Would it be possible to grasp the bull by the ...

Hi, When I was into Mini Coopers. Our club had designated members of which I was one, who would examine a Cooper and write a report and valuation for their insurance company. All we need to do is put such a scheme into place in partnership with insurance companies who wish to be on board. At the tim...

Hi Well I just got my fifth one no. 542. WHY ??? Hi mad4jags, I just noticed The names you have for your cars. Are the names based on the letters in the registration plate. I know this tends to be the way names are arrived at. I spent lots of time trying to come up with a name for the letters ARX, n...

Hi.
I personally think (obviously) the props look as though the designers ran out of ideas when they came to the wheels. I think they look dreadful.

Hi.
Door all done, the whole side of the car had to be done to blend it in. Apparently the best match was a colour from a Maserati.
I haven't noticed the car going any faster though. I also had the rear bumper done whist it was in the body shop.
Regards.

Hi. Thanks for you replies. I in fact have two ST170 wheels with new tyres. The only space I need in the boot is room for two carrier bags of shopping. The idea of the spare in the boot is to a) save grovelling under the back of the car on a dirty wet road in the dark (worst case scenario) and b) ha...

Hi, I run Focus ST 170 wheels on my Puma, as most of you have deduced the spare will not fit in the standard spare wheel space under the car. As a result I carry the spare in the boot, so there is no point lugging round the weight of the steel spare and the tray. Now in the interests of weight and d...
