Project Revive

If you can find just the pump (I bought one from EuroCarParts a few years back) it is possible to change just the pump, keeping the original sender unit.

Good question, I do not know. Hopefully not nickel as it's a nice knob to touch.
Like touching knobs do you? 😂😂😂
You should have seen the posts a few years back when someone said they would start polishing them for people....

Puma 1.7 won't start-Any advice please

If there is no click when you turn the key, something is stopping the starter solenoid from making the starter motor turn. I believe there is a starter relay somewhere which may be the cause.
Or a faulty starter solenoid.

Those are my educated guesses.. :o)

Does the starter 'click' when you turn the key?

Puma 1.7 won't start-Any advice please

You say it isn't turning over, but then you say the starter was firing when you flicked the key?

Those wires on mine connect into the bottom of the fan housing for the rad. It's possibly a capacitor for the fan motor?
It's definitely something to do with the fan but I'm not exactly sure what.
Its a fan resistor which makes the fan run on low speed.

LED lights main beams

I tried a few years ago, but LED brightness & quality was not that great. Could not at the time find anything that matched the light/lumen output of standard filament bulbs! I have no idea what sort of LED technology is out there now. I would suggest searching on YouTube for videos about LED headlig...

Speedo not working.

Richard.... are you potentially talking about a roll pin? If so, I tried removing one and despite being someone who is VERY persistent and does not give up easily, I didn't succeed. From what I can remember there didn't seem to be a hole the opposite side which can be used to tap the pin out... unle...

FRP map without cams?

Standard engine will work fine with an FRP ECU/MAP.

Adding the cams, inlet etc. will make a difference but the best gains will be with all of it together.

Putting the cams/inlet with out the MAP I don't think would make a big difference.

'Trimming' a thread

I have a project thread in the 'Other vehicles' section. Is there a way I can remove/delete/trim a lot of the posts as they are no longer relevant to my current project and thanks to Photobucket none of the pictures exist any more!? The original vehicle the project was started with has since been di...

Puma Thunder

Hi and welcome Graphite Grey? They were Magnum Grey or Silver..? Unless you live somewhere different to me.. I had a 2002 Thunder and unfortunately it rusted like it's life depended on it. For some reason the later/newer models seemed to rust a lot quicker and worse than the earlier ones. I ca...

front wheel/s not turning

I left my Fiesta in a garage for quite a few months (some of which were over the winter) and I had trouble pushing it out. That also felt like a seized brake or thought I had left it in gear. It moved eventually after almost popping a vein! Since replacing the battery and getting it started it drive...

A/C plug

Hi Richard

Yes, anything from a Fiesta as long as the plug is the correct size/shape.

Looking at my spare engine, it looks like the same plugs are used on the alternator and injectors too!

The dreaded broken wires Richard..? If it's what I think you are describing that'll be the connector on the power steering pressure switch... they are prone to breaking! I could be mistaken but I'm sure I used the same shape connector from somewhere else on the car but let me verify that first. EDIT...

I have a T25 turbocharger from a Saab 900 (94-98) & 9-3 (98-99). https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4580/24267732138_c0943cdffe_c.jpg The centre core has been turned to roughly match the correct angle for fitment to a standard Puma/Fiesta manifold. engine temperature high

When the fan starts on high speed there is a sudden demand on the electrical system which makes the engine revs drop. At this point the ECU should compensate by adjusting the timing/fueling to bring the revs back up to normal. I would probably get the battery and alternator checked/load tested as a ...

Or if there is a body kit adhesive called Tiger Seal. It isn't cheap but it'll stick s**t to a blanket!

As for water pump, if you can't buy genuine I'd go for a good quality aftermarket item.
