Considering a 160k Puma – am I mad?
The Puma engine I have in my Fiesta has around about that sort of mileage, if not more - car has around 155k on it and the engine has done roughly 10-15k more (I can work it out if I get all the paperwork out). It had 2 previous owners before me, one of which I believe did a lot of motorway miles in...

Another none starter..
There are 2 'parts' to the starter motor.. the motor itself and a solenoid that makes a contact to make the starter work. If the starter motor is failing to turn I would start with... Faulty starter Faulty starter solenoid Fault within starting circuit - bad relay or fuse If the car doesn't get a lo...

Tailgate Issue
Hello
I'm sure all tailgates are the same. Can you loosen the bolts on the lock and move it a little to make it shut better... or loosen the bolts on the tailgate to move the 'loop' that goes in the lock?

new key help
Could be because it is new.
I have a new key and that get stuck in the door lock sometimes.
No sure what I would suggest to get it out other than gently turning/wiggling it while gently trying to pull it out.

I believe the red 'button' in the fuel cut off should be pushed down. As above... pump should prime/run for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. If not, check: Fuel cut off Fuel pump fuse If fuse has blown it's is almost guaranteed the pump will have failed - common issue when the pumps hav...

Help with parts
You will notice a lot of eBay sellers over price their items when they are out of stock so they don't have to end & remake the listings each time. I had my intercooler kit in my watch list for several months at over £600. I message them asking if the price was correct and they replied stating the it...

I have fitted 2 of those.. not on the same car! The first one I bought was all one piece and fitted great. For an 'aftermarket' item I was surprised at how well it fitted. The second one I recently fitted wasn't so nice. It came in 2 pieces with a clamped join in the middle and the overall fit was q...

Seats !! Help !!
As Red says, the seats are the same size and yes you will need to swap the pretensioners by removing the ones of your original seats and fitting them to the older/replacements. The earlier drivers seat had electric adjustment.. which you could wire it in if you wished but as for fitting in your car,...

Considering a Puma - do they *all* rust?
Looking at past posts about rust and my own experience.. it could be stated that the earlier/older Pumas actually rusted less than the later/newer ones. I had a 2002 Thunder and another 'non-edition' Puma of roughly the same age and they both rusted like nothing I've seen before. One of them had onl...

Budget Puma TURBO Project!!
I was told only max 6psi on stock internals and no decompression plate and use a fuel pressure regulator. Can't remember what rate the regulator is but I'm pretty sure the info is somewhere in this thread.
Everything else is stock.

Budget Puma TURBO Project!!
It would certainly be a very good project to get your teeth in to.. more so if you are able to weld/fabricate.. although things like a custom turbo manifold are available 'off the shelf' if you don't mind paying a bit of a premium for the pleasure. If you chose parts carefully you can do it reasonab...

A/C question
To be honest it depends on how much 'grief' you want doing it :o) I'm pretty sure the non-A/C cars have the power steering pump in a different location, so that and all the pipework would need to be moved first. Then fitting the A/C system itself.. condenser needs to be fitted behind the dash along ...

If you can find just the pump (I bought one from EuroCarParts a few years back) it is possible to change just the pump, keeping the original sender unit.

Puma 1.7 won't start-Any advice please
If there is no click when you turn the key, something is stopping the starter solenoid from making the starter motor turn. I believe there is a starter relay somewhere which may be the cause.
Or a faulty starter solenoid.
Those are my educated guesses..

You say it isn't turning over, but then you say the starter was firing when you flicked the key?

I tried a few years ago, but LED brightness & quality was not that great. Could not at the time find anything that matched the light/lumen output of standard filament bulbs! Richard.... are you potentially talking about a roll pin? If so, I tried removing one and despite being someone who is VERY persistent and does not give up easily, I didn't succeed. From what I can remember there didn't seem to be a hole the opposite side which can be used to tap the pin out... unle...
