high tickover speed?!?!?

when my car is cold and I start it up it revs up to 2000 rpm for about 3 seconds then drops to about 1000. but if I shunt it about on my driveway it will rev up towards 3000 on tickover for a few seconds. it doesn't do it when it is hot or at any other time except if it is a cold day. it has had a n...

starting problems

when i get in my puma it sometimes starts first time but other times i think its flooding and i have to give it full throttle to get it to fire then it will rev up silly high and idle like 3000rpm for a bit!
any ideas?

oh i see. not as yet but i will be going over it all soon. today it started pogoing for no reason while cruising along at 2500 rpm! sensor must be breaking down

its had new plugs and air filter and idle speed valve. the belt has been changed but not sure by who so maybe the timing may be out a tad, I spose I need to drive onother one to see if its the same! the hego sensor did come up in a fault code once but I think it was just loose connections, I spose I...

puma feels flat

my puma feels very flat power wise until in gets up to about 5000 rpm. it doesn't seem to have any torque at all. I am used to my vw tdi which has over 200 lb of torque so I really notice the difference but even so I still feel its very flat. only mod is back box. is there anything else that may cau...

ive had all sorts of polly bushes but ive found that nothing has come close to rose joints.
was looking at the puma arms yesterday and thinking about maybe I should fit them :grin:

to be honest with all the cars I have modded in the past ive found no matter what you do if you have a light weight car then 6j 15's is all you need, infact all the stiffening and tweaking ive done in the past only made everything worse in the real world. strut braces are the biggest waste of time i...

First trackday was in March this year so was learning the car lmits and didnt go crazy, I ran 16's on uniroyal rainsport 2's, but will get some 15's for the spring, didnt understeer much at all I was more concerned with the skittish back end (regretted replacing the rear bushes for standard at that...

im in Colchester, I don't get out any more for cruises or meets, too much family commitment but I wanted to build a fun car/ track car and the puma seemed to be the best for the cash.
