NEEDING HELP PLEASE

As many of us know, garages don't always get it right. I had a garage put an advisory on the MOT "Power steering pipe/hose has slight seepage Below A/C compressor". Took it to a a real car mechanic who repairs cars, not a "Technician" who just replaces parts. He put it on the ramp, and we could both...

Oil and brakes

DOT 5 is a silicone based fluid and should not be mixed with glycol-based brake fluids. If you change to DOT 5, you will need to fully flush the system, and possibly also change all the seals. However, DOT 5.1 is a glycol-based brake fluid, and can be mixed with other glycol-based brake fluids. The ...

Hi to all Thunder owner!

The door clips are originally 2-piece. The following pics show each of the 2 pieces attached to the door and the panel, prior to assembly. The second pic shows one clip missing (left of the foam block). I might be wrong, it's a long time since I refitted mine, but my recollection is that it may have...

Hi to all Thunder owner!

Single DIN slot size 50 mm High x 180 mm Wide. Double DIN slot size 100 mm High x 180 mm Wide. Puma 6000/6006 radio metal case is a little under 90 mm High x a little under 180 mm Wide. 90 mm / 50 mm = 1.8 So the metal case is slightly smaller than 1.8 DIN. https://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?...

Restore the headlamps yourself, plenty of kits in the market to do this. Then get a set of up-rated bulbs.

Hello there

It's been said many times before, but, for your engines safety, make sure you find someone who has experience of changing the 1.7 Cambelt Kit. https://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=33009 There's also useful info in the "How to Guides" section: https://www.projectpuma.com/viewforum.php?f=5...

What's actually wrong with the ones you have. If they are just "cloudy", that can be polished out.

Key fob stops working

I suspect that you have a fault in the key, giving you the problem. This type of fault is not unknown, and could be a cracked circuit board, faulty soldered joint, or faulty micro-switch, giving intermittent contact. You say, "Just as I was about to give up all hope, I tried the key fob which isn't ...

.......... The old mechanic I used to use when I lived at my parents is back to work on Monday. I think I'll ask him to do the clutch slave cylinder one morning before work and hopefully that'll fix the last of the gearbox issues......... Ed You do realise that the gearbox needs to be taken off to ...

To be on a public road, you must have tax and insurance. Without a current MOT, car insurance could potentially become invalid. If you don't have tax and insurance, you need to SORN the car and not have it on a public road. Statutory off road notification (SORN) If a vehicle is off the road and not ...

One thing that appears clear, you cannot do rust treatment just once, and assume it will be OK for ever! My original rust-proofing programming was started in August 2009, and I would think, on reflection, it would be wise to repeat every 5/6 years, to be on the safe side. Now that mine is sorted und...

The "textured bit" was Velcro, to hold my mobile and use it's satnav, before the days of magnetic mounts (which it now has). I've also replaced the 6000 radio with the 6006e, which looks the same style as the original Thunder radio, but in black.

It's personal preference, but I have to admit that I've never been that keen on the silver panels in the Puma interior: 48420037_310978923086177_487711747122135040_n.jpg Once again, I hadn't even intended to buy any more parts at the moment, but I noticed an(other) eBay bargain which will help go w...
