Boot Luggage Capacity in Litres?

Looks like my Puma might need replacing with something with more luggage space, and most importantly, something that can legally tow. Trouble is, I have no numbers to compare the Puma to. Luggage capacity isn’t listed on Parkers , or anywhere else I’ve searched. It might be listed in the owners manu...

Smashed mirror glass/lens

Some numpty swiped off my n/s mirror at 30mph, when they opened their door, whilst parked up. Mirror was looking very sorry for itself, dangling by a thread, but on further inspection, seems to have survived, apart from the lens/glass. Some link I found, seemed to suggest these mirrors were designed...

Re: My right foot keeps hitting the throttle pedal when brak

Some funny replies :-) There's a 54mm gap between my brake and accelerator pedal at the narrowest point and the accelerator pedal is lower than the brake. I hope that helps. Barry Thanks for measuring. Mine is 51mm, and I measured 5.25” inches between the right edge of the throttle pedal and the car...

My right foot keeps hitting the throttle pedal when braking

Never had this problem before in cars/vans. I don’t know if the pedals are closer together than usual in a 1.7 Puma, either as standard, or maybe a previous owner, somehow, modded the pedals on my car, closer together, for track use. No matter how much I move my right foot to the left, when braking,...

Re: Most number of litres to fill your tank?

If the tank neck accounts for 2-3 litres, there must be some right royal ripping off from petrol stations, to account for those 46-48 litre fill-ups. The pumps must have been over-reading by about 10%.

Re: Most number of litres to fill your tank?

Mentions a limit here, at the top, for Leicestershire: http://www.leics.gov.uk/index/business/tradingstandards/ts_consumers/petrol_pump_questions_answered.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; So allowed up to 0.5% less fuel, and 1% more fuel (if I’ve transcribed that correctly). I don’...

Re: Most number of litres to fill your tank?

So what degree of pump inaccuracy are petrol stations legally allowed?

Still sounds like a Pumas tank is comfortably bigger than 40l, but 48l = +20%.

Most number of litres to fill your tank?

I managed 39.76 litres this morning, and it wasn’t coughing/spluttering on reaching the petrol station. Left me wondering if our tanks aren’t bigger than 40L? I didn’t have time for any tricks like pulling the knozzle out a few inches, to squeeze in a bit more. Just to the 2nd auto-shut off.

Arch carpet: remove or keep?

Tried cleaning my arches, without getting my hands dirty, so just a hose with a pistol/jet attachment, and some rated citrus pre-wash, but that method only removed about 20% of the muck. So do I have to invest in a pressure washer/brushes/rubber gloves/traffic film remover, or should I just remove s...

Rear view mirror position on windscreen?

My mirror is wobbling and unsticking so I’ve purchased a new sticky pad from Ford, but I want to double check where it should be positioned. Currently positioned about 1.5 inches down from the top edge of the windscreen, but a futher 1.5 inches down the screen is a black square that seems bonded to ...

My knob isn’t long enough!

I wasn't blessed with a long one :|

So what’s the best replacement gear knob that’ll give me an extra 2 inches? A fair selection on Demon Tweeks, but no dimensions mentioned, so you’re left guessing, plus the ones that look longer are mostly silly money.

Any recommendations?

Fine, that’s your life you’re wasting. Some people, if not the majority of people, would prefer to waste less of their life at fuel stations, hence why a longer range is preferable.

Re: Fuel Economy

Impressive, Dal 8-) Can you buy bigger tanks for the Puma? Why would you want to do that? It's not like fuel stations are a rare sight on our roads? Why don’t we all use 2 gallon tanks then? Petrol stops = time = money. Besides, the less time I spend mingling with the great unwashed (and Mackie D c...

Re: Fuel Economy

Are you aware the Puma’s tank is only 8.8 gallons?

From the extensive real-world mpg data from http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you can expect to average 36.5mpg, or there abouts. So that’s an average range of 300 miles, leaving only half a gallon left.

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but one other question: the difference in the wheels on the Millies - is it just the different centre cap, or is there more to it?

Yeah the reds also don’t have a clear coat, so much more susceptible to fading.

You see so many with faded paint, I presume the Millies are a single stage paint process, minus a clear coat?
