I can assure you nothing was bodged. Somethings broke from it being stood for a year, fuel pump etc and Ian had to change a few bits to get it working but I doubt there are many driveway assembled track cars with as much time taken as this

dragging up an oldie here but whats to stop you using the focus st170 calipers and discs instead of using the mondeo calipers i have the st170 discs and calipers on my sportka and the only modification i had to do was drill out the hubs for the bigger m12 mounting bolts and then bolt them on ???? N...

im talking about the standard torque limiter and the fact its there to stop the car eating the box, noob used to say it didnt as hed had his on there for x amount of time, now his has eaten itself maybe hes inclined to agree its best to leave it on there lol, or maybe not

got one from halfords today, 20% off on the web reduced to 50 quid, bit more expensive but brilliant quality, even has straps under the car to stop it flying off. also means if it f__ks up i can take it back no questions

if the stat is faulty and stuck open, then it will allow coolant to constantly flow around the rad which would cause the temp gauge to read cold like thattopmansparkie wrote:The thermostat allows the coolant to flow when it reaches the right temperature, so is not directly linked to the gauge.

Thanks fot the info fella, re your perspex window that cracked, have you considered making your own? On madmechanics.com there was a good guide i will try and dig out(was for headlight lens but should work for door glass, basicaly you would need to wax the outside of the window and then aply fiberg...

bet that water hadnt killed the engine. chances are it would have just been hydraulic locked. Emptying the water and oil, then try and start without the plugs in, then fit plugs bet it would have started fine. i tried to kill a 106gti engine once, by revving it to redline and sticking a hose in the ...
