Re: Love and hate

For my beloved Pips. Love Very quick for a 1.4 - shows what FSH, mechanical care and no daft mods can do. Economy - 45mpg + astonishing :) Quiet - the car was silent, no rattles, no road or engine sound. Looks and spec, one of the last 1.4's built. Character - the remote central locking mumble, his ...

Re: Hello from East Midlands!

Hello & Welcome :) I have had the joy of both Puma and MK6.5 Fez ZS, thought my Puma has gone in favour of a Focus now - they are a sleek and lovely car, feel much smoother than the ZS as suspension better.
If you get one cherish it!
Enjoy the forum :)

Re: JUST STOLEN!!!!!!

Goodluck!

Any potential buyers of a Puma will maybe check out a forum. So good call putting it on here.
Any distinguishing marks like dings/scratches/alloys might help if the theives change the VIN.

Re: Project Pips the Puma

Dear Members, I have some very sad news :( Pips the Puma has gone to a new home today. I am very upset and it was very hard to part with him. I feel I have left a trail of tears such was my fondness for the old lad. My health being the main reason for change (getting in/out is a struggle when im ach...

I tend to pick a space next to a well kept car, they aren't likely to smack yours!

Reverse in, always - it makes for a quick getaway lol

Re: Very weird engine noise...

Oh no poor Nancy! :( Check for signs of head gasket issues. Oil in water and a 'creamy gunk' around the oil filler rim. I have heard that noise before on a different car, like a fork being dragged over a radiator? Sadly the noise started at 70mph on the mway and it blew. Could be simply the ABS, on ...

Re: Grinding Steering

Good info post as found on 'search' button.

Pips made his first grindy scratchy noise last night-and as it was wet and grim thought it prudent to check. This has probably saved me a few bob in garage/mechanic fee's as it did irk me having never heard it before.

Thank you! :)

Re: engine turns over but doesnt start

Its the starter motor switch mechanism hun. Like a relay switch that closes a current when you turn the key. Give it a clean with WD40 and make sure the connections are dry/free of dirt. Check the starter motor.

Another old trick is to 'rock' your car while turning it over

Re: Project Bumble Bee- Black with a hint of Yellow

Did you get Bee checked after the pot hole you hit?
You said you had a quick check and it seemed ok.
Maybe that could have accelerated the buckling issue.

Re: Hi. New Puma owner with a few questions . . .can you help.?

Hello and welcome :) My washers were blocked with the same issue of intermittant spurts, my motor was working and you hear a whirrrring. Give them a clean and run through some nice warm water then fill with your usual stuff. (I like apple and pear scented)! That noise could be the heat shield by the...
