Re: vct/vvt when turbo'd
It would make sense that it's calculate on load, but if that is the case and it needs inputs from all sensors, then I'm going to have to rethink my set up as I have no MAF with the after market set up. But that's not to say I can't take a MAF apart and put it somewhere in my inlet tubing so the stan...

Yeah i know Sparx, its a stunning pearl colour in the flesh! So i got my bumper glued up and didnt have time to take it to Pumabulid until yesterday afternoon because of work. They posted this on face book this morning!! http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/Pumanoob/0842D06E-6453-4A46-B12A-B0652...

Re: vct/vvt when turbo'd
Or you could do as im doing, and hook up the cam sensor, TPS and an RPM signal to the stock ECU, run 2 ECU's and have the stock ECU run the VCT, and have your after market ECU just run fuel and spark. I hooked up an LED to the VCT solenoid on my onld car when i was running aftermarket ECU, and it st...

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
Everyone is allowed an opinion, and it's good that we all don't like exactly the same thing, makes it interesting!
Either way I'm glad I stuck with the imperial blue in the end.

If it's the bolt for the cam caps, I had someone bring an engine to me with the same issue an I had to use an imperial size, I think a 3/8 unf.

Re: can i fit a 1.8 focus zetec engine to a puma gearbox?
The focus 1.8 engine is the same dimensions and set up as the 2.0, an has the starter on the rear, so a puma box won't bolt straight on. But the 1.8 box is an ib5 so you can use the puma gearbox top mount, and a custom rear mount. But if it's in a puma you'd have to convert it from rod linkage to ca...

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
Nooooo, you are getting confused, I've never mentioned painting my car brown!! That's was the original colour of the arches when I first got it lol. It was the wheels you were talking about, and they were going to be bronze not brown! You just tried to put me off by calling it brown. But I think I c...

It's a very tough one, I considered a colour change as it's nice to be different, but in the end I think if have regretted changing it.

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
I must admit, it would look epic in white, but in my opinion, there is no better colour for FRP's then imperial blue! When it's clean (which in my case is not very often), & the sun is on it (which is also not very often) it's just stunning! Plus I'll have yours at my disposal soon so I can pick whi...

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
I went to collect my bumper from Pumabuild on Tuesday, fits really well. I had to bond the inner panel in and cut out the grills. Its all done now so ill take it back for spraying when i get a day off. http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/Pumanoob/A0BCD1ED-519A-4A56-AE5D-36F466D094EB_zpsyhhprie6...

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
I don't know what BHP will be now. I'll be looking really to increase torque low down. And increased BHP may be a result of that lol.
Thanks guys. I'm getting really close, just ordered the new parts for a power steering pipe as I went to start it the other day and it was leaking

Thanks guys! Its so close to being back on the rd now! Gaz refurbished my coilovers, i wasnt quite happy with the zinc finish on them, it was dull so i painted the unthreaded parts white, probably not going to stay clean long! http://i759.photobucket.com/albums/xx233/Pumanoob/8379AB32-1C40-49FD-8469...

Re: Puma RS
It only looks like the lip on the bush has gone, perhaps down to the torque of the engine & because it wasn't it's intended purpose. But the integrity of the rest of the bush still looks good. I think even if you used powerflex or another big nam, if the shape was the same, the same thing would happ...

Re: Puma RS
That's really good, and I bet there's very little lag too! I know you've probably considered it, but are you sure your sensor is calibrated properly?? Might be worth putting a big sheet of card to cover your rad so air can't flow through it. That should see your engine get up to temp. Mine took a wh...

Re: FRP Duratec Turbo Project!
That's the whole reason I did myself, I got a quote for fuse box top, air box top, PS cap, engine cover, and my Oxus radio surround, they wanted £300 :o to buy all the stuff even with messing the first sheet up, including base colours, primer, lacquer ect, cost me about £70. And I've not yet put a p...
