Re: Little Problem i need help with please!

HI, not sure if youve sorted this problem yes, but the possibilities could be either an air leak just after the throttle body, there are little nipples, but 1 is not used, but the little cover can come off, and air will be sucked in through there when the engine is on vacume, like when you have it i...

Budget Puma TURBO Project!!

Hi all, ive decided to put my project up here, yes, its another turbod puma, but hopefully for less then anybody has ever done 1!! Ok, before i tell you how much i have budgeted for it, id like some responses as to how much you all think it will cost, including buying the puma, Y reg, and a turbo se...

Re: Fork or Eye Mount?!?!

It will be an eye mount, as in the above post, 97 and 98 are the only years for fork mount. You can buy fiesta shocks and springs from the mk5 fiesta, they are identical to your puma, but from my experience easier to come by!

Re: Engine vibrations at low revs at Puma 1.6 2002

Oh, and when i mentioned the 1.4 head might fit earlier, the cylinder sizes dont really matter as much, as the pistons dont come out any further then the cylinder, its the oil and water galleries lining up that matter (they dont, the 1.4 is colser to the 1.7 head) but if it did, it might actually ma...

Re: Engine vibrations at low revs at Puma 1.6 2002

Good luck mate! If you need any tips on anything, just send me a pm, if you need torque settings or anything like that. Also, it may be just a bent valve, so thats may be all you need to change, but it may have hit on 1 of your pistons, so just check to make sure they arent damaged. And make sure yo...

Re: Engine vibrations at low revs at Puma 1.6 2002

I just got the phone call from the garage. They made another compression test and they found that a valve is bad. So the first garage and myself failed doing a propper test. The costs for the repair would be 2000 Euros in the garage. Anybody got a good 1.6 cylinder haed? Does the head from a 1.7 fi...

Re: Deep water = wet engine

Cool man, gonna get a compression test for piece of mind anyway, planning some mods and don't want to start off with a ropey engine. Yeah cool, as you say, best to start off with an engine thats 100%, as the more power your going for, the more unreliable it tends to get, so if youve got a 100% engi...

Re: Deep water = wet engine

Sorry if ive caused any panic, if its driving as well as it did before, then im sure it will be fine, i just thought id mention it, as im currently in the process of changing a con rod in an engine that did exactly the same thing, but as i mentioned in my earlier post, it was making a knocking noise...

Re: KNOCKING FROM UNDERCARRIAGE

Ive got a little trick that worked well for me, but it wont work with too much misting. Theres a thing called silica gelthat you get in little packets that look like salt or sugar, they come in new shoes, or any item that they want moisture to stay out of. If you put a couple of them in each light, ...

Re: Deep water = wet engine

Just a quick note, if water gets into your induction, and into your engine, enough of it will damage your piston rings, and con rods, because water wont compress like the air does, and if there is enough of it in 1 or more of your cylinders, when the piston tries to compress it, , somethings gotta g...

Re: handling pronlems like its on ICE

Just a thought, what offset are your wheels? I know of someone who put peugeot wheels on a ford, and the offset is ET20 rather then ET35 of fords. They had the same problem, and especially if you have axle spacers too!! Do the wheels stick out from the body work? Ive got 205/40/17 on mine, and its f...

Re: 1.7 Variable valve noise

Yes, this is the correct method of timing up the 1.7, i did mine about 2 months back. The 10mm bolt you were talking about is where you insert the timing pin. As for the movement in the variable cam, is it loose movement, or quite tight, because it is supposed to have movement, thats why its variabl...
