Anyone have the issue when replacing a rear suspension strut that the thread in the weld nut appears to have stripped (eye type)? And what did they do about it? The torque is pretty high and those weld nuts not the strongest after being heat affected by welding presumably. Looking at getting...

Thanks for the info... Not sure why they wouldn't have made the crankshaft end to match the 1.6 standard pulley diameter though? Something to do with balancing? Some websites seem to suggest there's also a 12mm difference on the belt mounting diameter, seems a bit pointless? Don't get these...

Anyone know why ford bothered to fit a different (but very similar) crankshaft pulley on a 1.7 when they could have just used the 1.6 one, which looks like it is also used on the focus and fiesta?!

I ended up ordering a DJ7022Q-1.5-11 from AliExpress. (which is just the socket rather than the plug). It appears to be identical, the seal that came with it looked improbably small but I was able to stretch it over the existing socket centre bit and it looks just like the original seal now...

I bought a fiesta mirror and the mirror casing and pivoting mounting arm mounted perfectly to the puma bodywork/metal baseplate. I had to bin the new plastic fiesta baseplate that came with it as it wasn't identical (body shape obviously different). The mirror casing although it interfaces...

Is the rest of it compatible, i.e. the bits inside apart from the base plate? Need two new sets of (electric) mirror internals but can only find fiesta ones. Pretty much everything between the glass and the door is snapped in some way...

Something that's happened a few times, unplugging a connector then when reconnecting it the bloody red rubber seal splits and gets wedged in. Not surprising after 20 years, but then where do you get a replacement for these? Presumably not having one will quickly lead to a short sooner or...
