    Dash Clock

Hi, If anyone is breaking or scrapping a Puma at some point, I'm looking for the dash clock (the one with the time) and the connector with a bit of loom. Let me know if you fit the criteria!

to do it or not to do it.... (new ford)

So since the puma broke my heart by being a biodegradable failing thing that it was, I've been going round in a 1.4 diesel 206. Decent on fuel, cheap road tax and isn't bad looking at all. I've spent quite a bit replacing pretty much all the suspension and what not, but it still needs some...

2001 Black 1.7 breaking - some new bits for sale, too

Reluctantly decided to break my Puma after the last straw. If you caught up with my project thread, I threw a lot (far too much) money at the Puma only to find a running issue. I bought a low mileage engine and replace the water pump, thermostat housing, thermostat, genuine cambelt &...

    Self Bleeding hose - necessary?

Gone to do some more work on the Puma, swapping over the head. Last part of the job was to reconnect the cooling system - didn't realise until this point that someone has sheared off the self-bleeding elbow (right rear corner of head). tried extracting it, but the extractor bit sheared off in...

    The "Wow, it sold!" thread

Just looking at my ebay watch list (haven't logged in for a while) and stumbled across something. We've spoken about it before, but can't believe this actually sold... for those confused, it's not one of the presentation items, it has no value as a collectable as it's just a normal knob that's...

    Removing engine

For a short term option I've sourced a cheap engine whilst I suss out what's gone wrong with the one in situ... ETIS is overly and unnecessarily drawn out so isn't much use, but.... Has anyone managed to swap an engine out on the 1.7 whilst leaving the gearbox in situ? I've done this before...

    Really confused - not starting

Hi all, So having spent some time this evening putting everything back together, checking and double-checking, I put on my best 'sexface' and turned the key. Initially, car ran but sounded lumpy, like it was running on 2 or 3 cylinders. I've done the timing on it (something I've done before...

    Wheel fitments? Hmm..

Just thinking... I know that the 'ideal' offset for a puma is E35 (or ET35 if you will), and E40/ET40 is often known to just not fit right at all... But ford offered ET40 fitment as an option??

    Rallye Crashes

Who doesn't love a bit of a crash compilation (better than the 90's VHS crap that used to be on dave/men & motors!) Some big ones, some small ones, and some really stupid driving! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZet6SvI_Jg

    Slight bonus I guess

Added the new suspension drop to the insurance (churchill) behind gritted teeth expecting that it either wouldn't be covered or would cost a bomb.. ...no additional premium. winner!

cavity between cylinders 2 and 3

Hi guys Having taken the inlet off today to get easier access to locking the flywheel I saw that there's a cavity between the inlet ports for cylinders 2 and 3. Don't recall this being an issue on the last puma when I did the HG, but as you can see on this one it seemed to contain a lot of oil...

    A naughty knob

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271344594387&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:3160 This must be one of the fake ones that people had made up Can't find anywhere to 'report' these on the listing now :-( Someone might end up paying a stupid amount for a fake

How To: Dismantle and Re-assemble a broken door mirror

Hi all, There's a small guide in this section that very vaguely explains this process, but there's always room for photos. This guide is for electric heated mirrors but should be similar for others. That guide also refers to buying parts to fix - I found with mine that it wasn't necessary so...

What is my dashboard trying to tell me?

From seeing a few questions about these things, and considering not everyone will have an owners booklet, I've thrown together a quick guide. This mainly applies to the digital mileage dash but to an extent will be cross compatible. Note: No assumptions have been made and this has been made...

Black n' Nasty: My project thread

Been on here a bit so as I've also been under the car quite a bit I thought it best to track my goings-on. A few years back (in a land when even a 97 Puma was a £1500 + car) I had a red R reg 1.7. I was back on here then but don't know which email I was using, nor can I find anything I had...

    Cheap brake upgrade?

I'm not interested as I want to keep 15's, but this would surely be a very cheapy cheap way of upgrading to bigger brakes? Or am I missing something...

    decisions....

okay, so my plan of fitting adjustable coilovers has gone south as although i was told they fit pumas,  box is labelled sportka, hose mounts are different and the thread is a lot shorter after the cup. basically, they're probably not going to fit. so I'll try and sell them and recoup the...
