    Go Big or Go Home!

How did the MOT go? Here is what mine looked like a week ago 😲 but has to get worse to get better 😉 we've got to save them because they're just such great little cars and disappearing fast 😪

    Go Big or Go Home!

Hey 👋 what are you doing to yours? Mine has needed not only new arches, but inner & outer sills both sides, some welding at seat belt mount, bottom of A pillar into the floor and a bit on front wings 😬 poor old girl was in a bad way 😧, but is now on the mend 🙂 and soon to be resprayed 🥰

    Go Big or Go Home!

A quick update, So PB were delayed with other works but the project is underway with arches cut out and the discovery we need new inner & outer sills on both sides. Not unexpected if I'm honest and sure they are going to do my little car proud.

    We are in the doldrums

With rarity comes value but as my hubby says, it's what the car is worth to me that matters.

    Go Big or Go Home!

The project is underway! In the end I decided to use Pumabuild for a few reasons; Advice from a classic Porsche owner at a car show who advised to always take your car to a company who knows the vehicle after learning the hard way with poor bodywork repairs on his 911 that had to be redone...

    modifications to become ULEZ compliant.

This is interesting to read. My COC for 2000 Puma has the NOx reading of 0.033 so it can be registered as compliant.

    Go Big or Go Home!

Well we had a hiccup!! I had my gall bladder out end of Feb and then ended back in hospital for 3 weeks with complications 😢. My garage, in the meantime had taken the Puma for MOT and it failed, tyre needed (which I knew anyway) and a rear wheel bearing. Not bad for a 23 year old car. There...

    Go Big or Go Home!

Thanks all for the replies and links which are very helpful. I also found a thread from 'Bok' about cleaning the lights showing the clips to undo and get inside them but I'm not attempting it until we have some spares...just in case 😉

    Go Big or Go Home!

**Long post alert** So, I am embarking on a huge resto mod on my faithful and trusted Puma just so long as MOT next week doesn't reveal the floor is about to drop out!! Anything else we can deal with because she's been kept well maintained during our time together. There were no corrosion...

    Plip has stopped working!

The Pumas made 2001 and 2002 had the ecus changed slightly by Ford and their Nox readings come in at 0.083 so they aren't compliant. The earlier ones, like mine 2000 plate are the ones with lower Nox, mine is 0.03. The Nox reading had to be under 0.08 if that's any help to anyone.

    Plip has stopped working!

Hiya 😊 The old girl is going in for a complete wheel arch replacement and full respray after MOT in March. The previous arch repair was not a good job it turned out!! She's still pretty tidy in general but lacquer is starting to peel in places so as she's been so reliable and good to me I...

    Plip has stopped working!

Hi all, It's been a while since I've been here but I still have my Ford Puma after 8.5 years happy motoring and now in the throes of arranging a full respray. However today my plip stopped working. I've changed the battery, but still not working 😕 it's been temperamental for a while. Does...

    Do I need a waxing!

Just had mine redone after 2 years with a price hike to £60! That'll be to pay for his new gun I guess  Still reasonable though.

    Leather seats and paint restoration

Hi James, As Barry asked where are you because I had my arches replaced and body work done only a few weeks ago. My guy did a fabulous job, new arches, removed some rust around tailgate badge, resprayed all down sides also and back bumper because he thought it looked scruffy! and also did my...

    Erratic revs

Hi. I had the same issue with.mine when I first had it and also my FRP. The FRP needed a new power steering load sensor whilst the standard puma had a connection issue with the same sensor. Try that if you're still having problems. One other thing, if your throttle peddle is sticky replace...

    Do I need a waxing!

Hi. My garage charges about £30 to waxoyl the underneath. He says it is preferable to Schultz because it allows any rust to breathe rather than trapping it under the sealing agent. Lasts approximately 2 years before needing to be redone.

    FRP 330

Hello and welcome to the joys of being owned by an FRP! It's all worth it in the end and hope to see you and yours in the convoy heading for CC next year

    Restoration of FRP 477

Congrats on the MOT pass  yours is looking very good also. These cars are like babies, time wasters, money grabbers but you just cannot help but love them once you have them. Even my daughter has been hooked and there aren't many hearts harder than hers!

    Restoration of FRP 477

Hi Xaf, We feel your pain after buying 275 a year ago. Very similar problems! It is finally on it's way home from Pumabuild having spent the last 3.5 months there being stripped, resprayed and rebuilt. They have not been the only ones involved in this restoration - Eldood aka Chris Allison of...
