I know that type of engine quite well, the stock 5 valve head is hard to work on but responds well to flowing. With a good turbo and a decent exhaust your mapping options are significant.

200hp, you could fart more power than that.,, for that kind of install cost. Might as well fit an Audi RS3 motor in it, with a tweak there’s a reliable 600hp.

As for the cam belt lunching the motor, I get a lot of ‘asks’ to repair engines that died this way. Problem is that it’s an indicator of possible missed maintenance so bad oil and worn parts often follow but if it’s just the bent up valves thing it’s usually a chance to get in there and come out...
