How Many Left, Puma's still on the road

Figures taken from https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk for Ford Puma up to Q3 2023, if you search for Ford Puma, you'll get all the modern SUVs as well, so it's a case of checking the relevant models. Puma 209 1.4. 110 Black. 76 1.7 1400 Millennium...

    Numbers registered?

You have to look at all the relevant Puma's , some are just listed as Puma, others are more specific like 1.7 and add them up to get a total, last year when I did it, the total was about 2,100. I'll do It again, soon.

3 Puma's at Hook Norton Classics meet 14/04/24

I've been to the Classic Motor Hub, twice for free, but I believe that now they charge £10 entry, so won't be going back. The event at Hook Norton Classics is free and run by the group, in March we had 5 Puma's there, normally there are at least 2 of us, Kevin Leek and myself are regulars. There...

    Panther black Puma from Prague

That sounds good, there is so much rubbish out there, even some branded items are poor. I was told my someone that a friend ordered a 100 wheel bearings from somewhere in China and they asked what name they'd like on, SKF, Timken etc. could have been used, so just counterfeit part's.

    Panther black Puma from Prague

Poor quality parts, especially fuel hose can cause problems, even using E5 petrol.

    Need help with Petrol Gauge

You may have the wrong sender in the fuel tank, there are 3 different versions, which if the incorrect one is fitted can give strange readings. When I had the Thunder the gauge wouldn't go below 3/4 tank, luckily the previous owner had given me the original unit, I just swapped the pump to the...

    Brighter headlights?

I have been using Osram Nightbreakers for many years on several different cars, think that I've only had one fail and that was about 8 years old, a Phillips Extreme vision only lasted just over a year, replaced with the Osram Nightbreakers, and that was 4 years ago and I mainly use the car at...

battery light flickering on and off

A common one to break is the braided steel one from the back of the engine block to the bulkhead, some cars won't start without it, whilst others do, no idea why the difference. As far as I know, all the ground/earth wires are black, apart from the one to the bulkhead

3 Puma's at Hook Norton Classics meet 14/04/24

There were 3 Puma's at this morning's Hook Norton Classics meet at the brewery. Dave Shaw with his lovely Millie, Rob and Jo Josephine Peebles with their Thunder and Kevin Leek with his rally Puma. For a change, I didn't take a Puma, I took my Quantum 2+2 instead.

battery light flickering on and off

Apart from the obvious ones like the engine to the bulkhead, there is another one that goes goes from under the battery to the engine, there are others as well. I took the main ones off, then cleaned them and used petroleum jelly to protect the contacts and provide good continuity.

    Rocker Cover gasket

Elring is the one I used and had no problems, I didn't use any sealant, just petroleum jelly. I believe that Allison Automotive uses Elring. Ford didn't make gaskets, they had them made, so if we knew who the OEM manufacturer was, life would be easier.

    New, and need help.

Before you try anything, check that the bank of 4 contacts are clean and making good contact, as this is where the light gets it's earth from, then check the wires on the R/H boot strut, the live feed is carried through the boot strut ! Some aftermarket boot struts do not have electoral...

    LED bulbs (for all)

Is for some reason the polarity of the socket opposite to the one on the other side for some reason, but it'll be a common earth for both the side and brake lights, I think. Time for a check with a multimeter.

    LED bulbs (for all)

Did the original non LED bulb work Ok, before you fitted the new bulb ? May be a poor connection on the multi connector or the bulb socket.

    Puma Millennium W965 RDU

The Jenolite spray came top in a recent AutoExpress review, just in front of the Rustbuster and Bilt Hamber one's, the Jenolite brush on one was deemed to be nothing like as good as the spray...
