Part Wanted Perhaps a strange request...

Do you fine chaps happen to have a digital cluster fuel needle laying about that you could sell me? I broke mine in a silly accident...

    Airbag plug

Thanks Yep...I just afraid of braking something.... Update: I manage to solve the problem. I used the old clock spring, which I separated from the steering wheel in situ, then I popped the new steering wheel in, inserted the clock spring, and that was it. No need to mess with those pesky...

    A stubborn ECU?

TOday it happened again. Going down hill, low speed, tight/slow corner at the end, car shuts down... I have no idea how to check for a vacuum leak? Listen for a hissing noise?

    A stubborn ECU?

Thanks, chap. Just one more question, if I may: given that I can't always replicate the problem (now the car won't shut off where it once did...) is it more or less symptomatic of a bad pressure switch?

    A stubborn ECU?

Thanks for going to the trouble of checking the diagrams, Cherry. I have the wiring diagrams for the 1.4. It does seems like it's 12V. Tomorrow I'll figure out a way to test the canister purge valve. Meanwhile, my preliminary inspection of the power steering pressure switch revealed that while...

    A stubborn ECU?

Valuable info, chap. Will get on the case right away and report on my findings later on. Edit: The ECU is exactly the same as the old one. The only difference is that the immobilizer of the old one was transplanted to the new one.

    A stubborn ECU?

Fellas, my Puma has developed a very strange problem: ever since it had a new ECU installed, it has had problems maintaining the right RPM. One chap here told me to follow the ECU reset procedure, and sure enough it worked. Thing is, though, whenever I put petrol the issue returns. The revs...

    Revs all over the place

    Seems to have worked.

    Revs all over the place

Not me and I'm not sure the guy who worked on the car did that. I shall try it though. Much obliged for the comment, Van!

    FRP intake inlet anyone???

Very cool. It's the first time I see one of those intakes.

    Revs all over the place

Recently I had to fit a new ECU on my car. I also fitted a new coil, spark plugs and ht leads. For whatever reason the revs are always oscillating: if idling it's a minor oscillation but when I have to decrease the speed suddenly, as in when approaching a roundabout, exiting the freeway or make...

    Problem with headlight

I fix it. I decided to cut off the wire which goes from the main connector to the side light, soldered a new wire and the darned thing started working. The only thing I'm not sure is normal is when I turn on the side light and/or the low beam with the car turned off I hear a 1 second buzz from...

    Problem with headlight

Update 3 Right, so I figured out what the problem is. It's the centre pin in the main connector (the round, green one) which is knackered. I did a continuity test and got nothing. In order to make the side/parking light work, I had to connect a wire from the low beam connector to the side...

    Problem with headlight

Update 2 Finally figured out what was the problem with the motor. The connector was not in good nick. Fortunately the geezer who sold me the new motor threw in a new connector and I was able to solder the wires. Seems to be working flawlessly, and it stopped interfering with the other motor...

    Problem with headlight

Forgot to ask: does anyone know how to de-pin the connector I showed in the pic? I could do a better job of insulating it if I knew how to de-pin it...
