    1999 Panther black track project

Up for sale is my beloved Puma track project that I unfortunately no longer have the time or space to commit to finishing. The car is a 1.4 Lux, with the heated windscreen and A/C, with around 101000 on the clock (I can’t remember exactly but it’s in that region). Ive added a 6 CD changer...

    T464 PNB - "Smokey Joe"

Still alive yes, but unfortunately it’s time for us to part ways. Since the last update the car has been sat in a shipping container in the back yard at work, not seeing daylight for nearly 3 years now! So with the lack of use, lack of time, lack of space and, honestly, lack of interest on my...

    T464 PNB - "Smokey Joe"

Well I know the theme of this build is slow progress but I legitimately didn’t think it’d been well over a year already since my last post, so this will come as much of a surprise to me as I’m sure it will to you.  I’ve taken full advantage of the lockdown and being an “essential...

    Loom question

Fair enough, I’m actually removing air con so that’s one less complication (hopefully)

    Loom question

But what did you actually do to the engine loom?

    T464 PNB - "Smokey Joe"

Goodies are starting to arrive  Clutch, timing belt kit and Fiesta ST150 handbrake cable for the rear disc conversion. Not long now and it’ll be all coming together :ok:

    Loom question

I’m in the process of swapping my 1.4 to a 1.7 engine, and I have all the required parts / knowhow except for one area - the loom. I know they are different as the 1.7 has VCT, but what I want to know is if the 1.4 loom can be modified to wire in the VCT or will I need a complete 1.7 loom? The...

    Fiesta mk6 1.25 Zetec

Unfortunately it does involve taking the rubber johnny off, but the new unit came with all the clips and whatnot so it doesn’t ping off, but it was a right fiddly bugger to get back together.

    Fiesta mk6 1.25 Zetec

Don’t remember if I mentioned it, but I smashed the passenger wing mirror on a parked car a few months back, so that needed replacing too. On top of this the lower engine mount has given up and I’m experiencing some pretty severe axle tramp, so that’s next on the list to sort. Well, that and...

    Sensible daily - Honda Civic

Well, in my absence I seem to have forgotten about this car as well. 9 days after fixing the radiator I got a new job, and by October had the funds to get back into the old girl. Everything went swimmingly and I just enjoyed tearing up the neighbourhood in my ear splittinly loud Japbox until...

    Fiesta mk6 1.25 Zetec

I just stumbled across this, completely forgot I’d made this post. Anyway, to sum up the last 21 or so months; not long after the MOT, the whole front end felt very boaty, as it turned out both front dampers were utterly blown and were doing no damping, so some new items were promptly fitted...

    T464 PNB - "Smokey Joe"

So progress has been slow over the last 3 months, but progress it is nonetheless. I fitted the track steering wheel and boss, added multiple items to the list of parts I need to buy, and actually purchased some as well! Both of them were a random eBay find while browsing aimlessly. Firstly I...

    Rear Disc Conversion

Well the stuff arrived and the braided hoses have the correct fitting, and they’re definitely longer than 11cm, so it *should* all go together ok

    Rear Disc Conversion

Barry, what did you do about the brake hoses? I’ve got a set of braided ones for the Puma but I’m unsure whether the fitting is the same on the drums and caliper. Did you use Focus hoses or the standard Puma ones? I’m using the standard 2.0 Focus set up (253mm discs) but I believe the calipers...

    T464 PNB - "Smokey Joe"

Well, as usual precisely feck all has happened since my last update, but I’m now in a position where I can actually (genuinely this time!) get the job done. Come Wednesday I’ve got the day off work so I can dig ol’ Smokie out of the garage and take him round to work where I have the facilities...

    Sensible daily - Honda Civic

Well I got it all back together yesterday. Lack of funds and time (and necessity) has been the reason for the 10 week gap. Anyway with some spare time I set about fitting the new rad and plumbing everything in. It was a semi-struggle but nothing major and I had the car running within two hours...

    JASAPP

UK MOTs have to last for at least 60 mins as the tester has to log on to the system and remain logged in for an hour - according to a pal o' mine

Puma owners who own/have owned Motorbikes

I've always had a soft spot for Bandits (i'm a cruiser man really) but they often do have a shady past just by the nature of the bike. Either way that looks like a nice one too.
