bad tank filler pipe?

When I park my car on a steep street (nose of the car facing up), it starts dripping fuel out of the back bumper (left side). If parked on a level street, it doesn't happen. I still haven't had the opportunity to have a proper butcher's at the car, but I'm guessing it's a shagged filler pipe? Has anyone had success mending one of these things? I looked them up on Ebay and the only one I saw was quite pricey...

Chances are it's rotten, you wouldn't be able to effectively mend it.
You can still get them new from ford.

A bit expensive yesterday, but it's a genuine part and it will fit first time without any faffing.

I would suspect the fuel tank is leaking, the hose would possibly only leak if the tank was full.
I understand that if it's the actual pipe, then no alternative is available apart from the genuine hose.
If you do have to replace the tank, I would recommend replacing the fuel pump whilst you have the tank off, as there are 3 types of fuel pump/sender unit used in the 5 years of production, it's best to just change the actual pump with a decent make, I have used Magnetti Marelli pumps on both of my Puma's.

So you reckon it's this smaller piece, and not the bigger pipe which connects to the filler hole? I wouldn't even mind forking out the 80 quid for this one as the bigger one is 250...

Without looking underneath it's hard to know, but when I replaced mine the fuller neck was in good condition but the rubber hose was on its last legs. Before buying anything I'd be checking first.

I have seen photos of a Puma tank where the filler hose fits on the tank, and around the connector area has rusted through.
But until you have a proper look, all comments are really just speculation.
Once you have established what you need, you can get the FORD part number from

When mine started to leak I used talc powder dusted around the tank and the hoses to find the leak - any petrol that escapes washes away the talc - you might need to wait until we have some dry weather. On my Puma it was coming out of the breather hose to tank connection - when I took the hose off and used an endoscope type camera on my phone to look inside the tank I noticed a spot of light where the hole was (next to where the nipple was welded to the tank) I used epoxy to plug and seal the hole and the repair has currently lasted more than a year. If you remove the breather hose you might need to trim the end off (mine was crusty and cracked) and use a decent jubilee clip - I made the mistake of using one from a multi pack from Lidl the thread strips before you get a tight enough clamp.
