Ahh, crud. Yesterday I didn't test the wipers etc because, well drying paint and disconnected wiper at the rear and no sprayers at the front.

But now, right stalk doesn't do anything.

First sleep. maybe later test the connectors.

blech.

/addendum, Well that sucked.

I first checked the fuse, it was blown, maybe I made a bad contact whilst placing it.

Welll....

After replacing the fuse, front and rear wiper moved, front slowly, both sprayers squirted. After a moment I noticed a whisp of smoke from behind the steering wheel.

Well, lets say, I'm back to the old mechanism.

I'm not sure but I think there's 2 types of indicators/wiper/headlight switches, analogue speedometer and digital speedometer.

Yeah, if I shop at mr auto they show two types, the ad on amazon however shows the one I should have. I'm assuming they just ship the wrong ones.

I had the Puma at the garage this week.

large maintenance, timing belt, waterpump, (leaking), valve cover gasket was leaking, badly, and was rock hard, after cleaning the engine the spark plug wires were more or less lightning machines, so they got replaced.

All in all, kuch, maintenance cost me 230 more then the car itself..

Auch.

Ahh well, lets have fun :)

In between a universal ford three button remote has arrived, programmed it using the instruction on this site and works fine.

However the boot will not open with the remote. I'm assuming that will be because the car thinks the bootlid is already opened.

If it is working correctly (boot solenoid) it should still activate regardless if it is already open or not.
You do press it quickly twice don't you as I think I remember correct;iy that is how the Puma boot works?
I think I used to just keep pressing it fast until the lid opened 😁

Well, pressing it once or twice won't work, neither a hundred times so I'll have to continue diagnosis :)

Replaced the wheel stalk mechanism by a magnetti marelli from mister auto, works perfectly.

I tried to replace the front right ABS sensor, However the bolt is badly corroded so I've ordered a bolt removal kit. Else I'll have to remove the brake disc to have access to the other end of the bolt to drill it out.

(and be able to happily spray with penetrating oil without contaminating the brakes)

Well, the bolt removal kit didn't get a grip. I went a bit medieval.

I took the angle grinder to it. After the sensor was out the remaining thread came out peacefully. Had to clean up the bore for the sensor with a sorta dremel begore the new one would seat nicely.

A short reset with forscan and a short drive told me that....

The rear right sensor gives a false signal and I still don't have a working ABS.

Dangit. ;)

The search continues.

Ohh right. The ball joint sleeve is basically fubar as wel.
