What is wrong with the photos? I just want to make sure everything is working across the board.
I was asking if it was possible to remove the edit time limit so we can freely go back and edit our posts.

I have pictures in another thread that no longer show because my domain where I was hosting them has changed.
Would be nice if I could edit the posts/thread to fix the pictures.

Can you point me to what photos you are talking about?

It's like Cherry said, often people edited their Project, Meet, Puma #, Group buys etc etc threads & they would edit the first post or subsequent posts to keep everything collated into one post instead of spread out all over the thread. As is usual many people don't have the time or inclination to trawl through a whole thread if it is long when they can see all the relevant information on the first "updated" post.

Plus, if links to photo's or other sites get broken we could update them if needed.

I mentioned in this thread on Mar 29 about broken photo links regarding pictures uploaded to this forum but it still isn't fixed. If we could edit our previous posts then we could do so as & when needed or prompted by another member (y)

I've been on this forum for almost ten years, have always tried to be an active part of this forum, have always enjoyed reading project threads and reading up on issues other members have.

My appreciation goes to Red for his hard work and dedication in keeping this forum running for as long as it has been. Also, my thanks go to other staff members for helping to keep things on the straight and narrow.

When the forum was updated to it's new current look, I was very impressed - It now looks more clean and modern. But, this is not saying that Red had not kept the forum 'up to date'. I have used the software the forum used to run on (with a lot of Reds help!) and know it is not easy making it in to something it does not start out to be.

When I read the forum was under 'new ownership' I was slightly disappointed but I am not afraid of change and things happen for a reason. I also understand with the forum being moved over to the new software things will be out of place and there would be teething problems.

I am disappointed with the lack of response regarding some things. It was asked some time ago if we edit old posts so we can keep our own threads up to date with broken pictures, weblinks etc., which was responded to but no resolution was either forthcoming or any explanation as to whether it was possible.
I received a private message asking if I would help to support the forum with a paid subscription/donation. I am not against that but I thought the request was a little 'cheeky' considering we had asked for some issues to be resolved which up to this post, are still outstanding.

I also find it disappointing that our requests to be able to edit our old posts has gone ignored/unresolved but yet when a member raises an issue with not being able to make a payment/donation that posts gets a very quick response/reply.
Maybe the new 'owner' of this forum has taken on this site to make money then that's the way it is... if it works, great although it would show where the sites priorities are now.

OK.. I said my piece.
It would be good if we could get a definitive answer as to whether we can edit ANY of our old/existing posts. I think that really that question has one of 3 answers...
1. Yes.
2. No.
3. Yes but there would be the following restrictions...

Going by what I noticed from sponsoring the site it comes with the ability to edit posts up to a month later. Which I guess means the answer to our question regarding editing old posts is Yes, but only up to a month if we pay for it.

Also disappointed. :(

I also don't understand why it's a troublesome question to at least provide an answer.

Editing your old posts isn't required often and I do also appreciate it from the other perspective as to why you might not want older posts edited for preservation reasons.

What old posts are you wishing to edit? And can you give me a link. It may be as easy as letting the tech that transferred the s/w to know and he can do a global update to show the old links and images.

So, please give me an example, and we can start from there.
