Hi everyone! My name is Bobby and I'm from Bulgaria. First of all I'd like to thank you for the great forum and all the helpful people around here, you're awesome guys!
As the tittle says I got a black 1.7 Puma 99'' for my first car. To be honest I didn't really wanted it for its bad condition, it was my dad's work car so he didn't take a good care of it but now was my turn. I fell inlove with her after the second day, great little car for a newbie like me!
The work began:
All old and broken, leaking parts of the suspension changed - that cost me about 1 and a half car but the money I'm throwing for her don't matter as long as I bring her back to life.
She burns alot of oil so when I got her to the garage for the oil and filter change we put 10w40 I know it's not the best choice but for me it was the best at the moment, oil and air filter replaced by new too.
Changed the exhaust, the old one was very rusty and tbh I wanted her to sound a little more sporty.

Its a bit dirty on the vid but when I clean it its very shiny and who doesn't like shiny things . Costed me 50 bucks with the replacment so I'm happy with the resault.
We had problems with the ignition too. Ignition sparks weren't changed since X time so I've bought brand new MoFoCo, changed them and she started running alot more smoother but we still have a bit hessitation with the cold start but that doesn't bother me I know what to do.
Cleaned MAF.
Cleaned Idlle control valve.
Brand new battery with 2 year warranty.
Bought 4 new summer tyres 2xPotenza Sport 205/55/15 and 2xDunloops (forgot the model) 195/55/15 for the front.
Not long ago I had an accident. Some crazy russian pushed me to the side of the street and this was the resault.

After 2 hours we are back in the game  It still needs a little work but I decided to leave the bodywork for last as I'm planning to do something more interesting with her.
Two days later I had another accident but this time it was my fault... Pushed her more than I can handle in the rain on a mountain road and it slided of the road. Thank god that there wasnt't any cars on the road because it went to the left side of the road, the right side will be the end of the game as there is a big canyon so... Lesson learned.
Resault was , broken wind shield, broken screen cleaner (I don't know the word for it) and minor damage to my me, as I said lesson learned.
After all evetything is ok, she is running good I'm driving more carefully not only in the rain and I dont underestimate her anymore.
Still needs some thing to be changed by new but everything with it's time.
Mods I've done to her:
FRP Air box mod.
The exhaust.
Tinted rear windows.
Tinted taillights.
Bit minor things that I will show after time.
Sooo there she is

Now lets see the not so good parts

Ooo yes, the arches tbh I don't know what the hell caused this because I got her when she had it

But under the bonnet I like to keep it clean
Replaced with (I've waited so long to have one of those and I'm so happy to finaly put my foot on something that isn't slipping on every move I make) .
Also replaced with and the same day I changed the panels I decided to remove the lenses (The fog light is still on the mountain road Ac.No2 along with the broken screen cleaner.
To do list is long:
1. Soon it will be time for the 2nd oil and filter change but I will also replace the head gasket because of the oil loss and put 5w30 just like its supposed to be.
2. Cambelt hasn't been changed since X time but I'm still looking for a garage that will not mess things up cause I've read that it's not an easy job to do and it has to be done properly.
3. New ignition sparks with spark plugs assuming I will go for NGK's.
4. New Air Intake system - Either KN panel filter or full KN i-57 kit.
5. Brand new 40mm FK springs waiting to be fitted .
6. New alloy rims, thinking about something 17'' with low ET and something like 8J (I don't know what it is the widest rim I can put but I'll start with 8J) along with new tyres 225/45/17 for the back and new 205/45/17 for the front.
7. New discs and pads for the front Mondeo's of course and discs for the back but that in the future, for now I'm not having a problem with the brakes.
8. I'm dreaming of a Miltek manifold but I think I'll go for an alternative and build my exhaust system here not ordering on the internet.
9. Bodywork and to be continued...
I think that's all for now but I'll keep you updated of things I do to her and share my expirance with ya'll.
Sorry if I have mistaken some words or phrases I'm not very good at writing in Eng.
Thank you and have a nice day folks!
Bobby

Wow your dad abused that car <_<
Looking good so far with what you have done and look forward to seeing it as you nurse it back to it's former glory.
Luckily i have pumabuild not to far from me and they did my cambelt but i wouldn't trust any old garage, especially if they offered to do it a lot cheaper so shop around as i don't know if you have any specialist garages in your country.

Your English is spot on buddy, very good indeed.
all the best.

A little update - Changed the oil with the oil filter and put those springs! Tbh I though it'll go lower but no problem I like it the way it is, the ride isn't too stiff at all, very happy with the resault! :D

that was one hell of a rough ride your poor Puma has had, looking good now though, be good to see it with new wheels as well and yes your English is better than some on here

Thanks! Saving $ for new tyres at the moment, but I expect of the end of the month to try them on

Got my kitty some new slippers today :D 215/40/16 for the rear and 205/45/16 aaaaand the thing I waited most for  Borbet 7.1/2J ET35 :-D I had other thoughts for this setup but for now its suits me fine

Looks good. I like the wheels. I'm not sure its a good idea to run wider tyres on the rear of a front wheel drive car though. It could upset the handling.

Actually, it might not be the worst of ideas since puma is oversteery anyway. But in rain it might be deadly. Plus it couldn't be MOTed here with tyres whose dimensions aren't on EU homologation for the vehicle

Here we don't worry about MOT, I can pass it even if many things aren't straight

I'd be more concerned about the difference in diameter between the front and rear. 205/45/16 are 590.9mm whereas 215/40/16 are 578.4mm. That's 1/2 an inch, which isn't massive in terms of size but in tyres can make a big difference.
