Hi.
I had to replace my HCV. After replacement it stayed permanently in the hot setting. I replaced it again and still it remained on the hot setting. I put a simple circuit test bulb across the plug, result was there was power to the HCV. I have bought a multi meter to test further. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for with the meter?

Regards Richard.

I had a new Genuine FORD one fail after about a 1,000 miles, I couldn't believe it, so I unscrewed 4 screws securing the coil and found debris from the broken hose connector jamming the piston, has been fine since.
On my other Puma I decided to replace the HCV as a precaution, purchased a Blueprint (Febi Bilstien group) one, which had all the same markings as the genuine one, but that failed after a few weeks, the piston/plunger was sticking, but not because of any debris, I did receive a full refund. Currently I have one that I rebuilt using a used Ford parts in an aftermarket housing and that's working fine.
