I am looking for main crankshaft bearing shells. I know there are two versions glyco 4415RA are not he ones , and I can't find the right type.
I heard, though I'm not sure if it's true, that Ford did not foresee the crankshaft to be repairable, which is why bearing shells type I have are not available, and the adaptive layer is so thin that the crankshaft cannot be reground.
It seems that the issue was caused by the oil pickup seal hardening, resulting in air intake and low oil pressure. The bearing shell on the last cylinder definitely looks worse.
Is it really true that the crankshaft cannot be reground?
Can anyone provide a part number or a place to buy these bearing shells? Like in the picture. Notice the lock on the bearing.
