So having a fun blast through the Rutland and Leicestershire countryside on the way home from work, I turn a corner to be greeted by this coming towards me!

Thankfully they all missed banging into the RS, but I did clean off some drool..lol

Stopped a few hundred yards up the road to check the car over so had to take a few photos:

Love a bit of lens flare (even on a smart phone)

Where the cows were was the other side of the water - Eye brook reservoir:

So after months of not washing it because driving it around the country lanes was so much fun, I finally got around to getting it clean again.

The Tractor populated lanes have taken their toll though:

Time to go get it messy again. :)

Not been doing any modifications or anything (or washing it much for that matter - love the dirty "Rallye Sport" look) but happened across T23FRS bigger American cousin today. Grabber Blue really is Nitrous blue but without the sparkly flake:

You should see the Shelby GT350 and R models, I hope we get them over here as I will start to do the lottery then!

Milestone mileage today - and I promise I do drive it how is should be driven, it's just I'm not 20 and don't rag it everywhere to get 29mpg which isn't too bad considering I think.

But I very rarely "rag it" as it gets into naughty speeds too quickly so it's not an issue. Still need to get around to taking it on track - maybe this year.

Can't believe it's now a year to the day that I collected my car

It went for it's first yearly service yesterday (2nd oil change) and had the PCM and audio update whilst it was there. I'm not sure if it's my imagination, or just that I got stuck in a bit of traffic on the way out but there's more pops and bangs even in normal mode.

The audio is much better now as well with a fuller sound now something is coming out the rears.

Had to laugh at the tyre depth on the health check - Front's 6mm, rear 7mm. As new they're only 7.3mm. Safe to say I haven't really driven it at it's full potential over the last 5496 miles. But I've loved every one of them.

After a years motoring, these are my figures:

Nice update Dal! Good to hear that you're still enjoying the Focus. Really a stunning car. Hope I will own one someday especially in the Nitrous Blue, best factory colour for this car if you ask me!

Hopefully you're having many safe trips the upcoming year. :eek:k:

So - drove home 33 miles from the dealers and shoved it in the garage.

Got it out today and the "oil change required" warning came on the dash! Seems like I serviced it just at the right time!

Reset it now so all good.

(Dealer can't reset it until it comes up on the dash so a simple procedure over the phone to reset it)

I purchased the Focus 250 ST-3 at 2,536 miles and immediately switched the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's (19 inch, 235/35/19), front to back. I switched them back and had the 12 month service done on 26th April at 6,455 miles. The garage reported 6 mm fronts and 7 mm rears, so you are doing well, considering the power you have!

Same size as on the RS then. I'm always surprised how compliant the ride is on such large wheels with skinny tyres. My A2 on 205/40/17 is a much harder ride in comparison.

I'm a wimp driving it most of the time to be honest - being a mechanical engineer I have far too much mechanical sympathy!

I drive with mechanical sympathy as well. I find it surprising how long the oil takes to reach full temperature after the coolant has.
Also, I'm not sure, but I thing my Pilot Sports start at 8 mm, if so, that's an even better wear rate for your RS.

I asked Michelin about my super sports and they said they start at 7.3mm rather than the regular 8mm

Always nice to see someone admiring you car - even if they're only 7.

Collected from having it's 2nd annual service today. Dropped it off yesterday - common as muck in Peterborough:

These are the figures overall from 2 years of driving:

The 2nd year service included replacing the brake fluid but judging by my brake pad wear, they probably shouldn't have bothered*:

Another mm off the tyre tread depth from last year too. Still good fun.

*yes, I know it needs doing every 2 years regardless
