Hi peeps, I’ve not had my temp gauge working since I’ve owned my puma 1.7, having had the engine out I have the single wire sender with a plug on the end but no wire from the plug, I’ve opened the loom but I can’t find the illusive wire, any ideas what I’m missing or if I can just run a wire to the back of the clocks?

If it is the newer engine (MHB; digital instrument cluster) the ECU is drivinh the temp gauge directly. The older models (analogue IC) used additional sender at the small housing at head below the coil pack. Could be that you have the older housing on newer car and sender as surplus and no wire for it in your loom.

Have a check here: https://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?t=10548&start=975

The image with unsharp connector in front, and remnants of a wire beneath. That is what is driving coolant gauge on older cars with writing NORMAL on instrument cluster.
