I've replaced the splash shield's and disc's and pads.
Removed the shocks for access and to replace the top mounts.
Them hub bolts were tight 🥵, all cleaned up and back together.
Apart from the dampers, one is weak and will not push out on its own.
So I'm looking for a replacement or a set of coil overs, if anyone has any used part s🤔 before I have to bite the bullet and buy some new ones.
Thanks Mark.

In a similar vein, I’m struggling to find replacement rear dampers for mine - everywhere seems to be out of stock of KYB which were recommended in the post by ‘The Archbishop’ about renewing the rear suspension.
Can anyone suggest where to ask or where to look on t’interweb? Or an alternative brand?
I’m after something that will replicate the originals as closely as possible - any suggestions would be gratefully received. Might as well do the top mounts while I’m doing it I guess - any other recommendations also gratefully received.
To the original poster - one of mine is good so if you want that one once I’ve replaced both rears you are more than welcome.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I'm assuming you have a FRP,
FRP are different spec to the standard Puma,
Other than finding a good used replacement, the only other option is to go to coil overs.
🤷

Ah no - I have a standard 1.7 2000 ‘W’ Puma. Guess I should have realised yours was an FRP by those brake discs.
If anyone can shed any light on my rear shocks I’d be grateful - apologies for hijacking your thread…..!

I purchased a pair of new Monroe rear shock absorbers for the Fiesta of the same age as my Puma for a very cheap £25 the pair, a clearance deal from GSF, but that was 28 months ago.
They're obviously not the correct damping rate, but physically identical to the originals and have got to be better than the original ones, as one had no damping at all.

I’m not so worried about them being as cheap as possible - would rather they were as right as possible. I’ve driven it with a slightly soggy back near side quarter for a few months and just want it to feel right again! I bought the car as I remembered them being a lot of fun and the fun has been tempered slightly by the handling and I’d like to get it back to spot on.
Any further ideas? A link would be really handy as I’m only a very amateur mechanic - can fit them ok but don’t know what I should be trying to buy unless it’s really obvious!

For what it's worth, I can't tell the difference between my 2 Puma's as the ride and handling go, the other one has Puma specific aftermarket rear shockers.
If you find the Ford part number, then you can do a Google search for equivalents.
I use this page, enter your VIN number and it will show you the correct part numbers.
