very nice pics!!

Hi there, although I am not a great fan of track based modifications, this is one very nice looking puma! Only one question, though: you stated that you installed -40 mm springs, but the images show the car rather high?

Hi Wild E Coyote !

Thanks for the compliments, Yes the Spring's I installed are 40mm lower than stock however you have to take into account I have removed 40KGS from the car which obviously will make a difference. When funds allow I will probably go for a KW or GAZ Coilover setup and then take it down to a height that is best suited for me.

I don't know if it is organised on this Forum or not but should organise a Local Puma Meet - I am based in Shropshire.

Evening all,

Been a while since the last post, Have been working away trying to get things sorted on the Puma. Since my last updates have carried out the following:

Removed A/C Compressor. Rad and Majority of pipework
New Gates Aux Belt
Sachs Gas Shock Absorbers (Front
Monroe Gas Shock Absorbers (Rear)
4 Wheel Geo Alignment
Custom Larger Throttle Body
New Lambda
JS Performance Coolant Hoses (Blue)
JS Performance Ancillary and Auxiliary Hoses (Blue)
New Radiator
Timing adjusted and setup properly.

I then had a custom map done on the car, to say I am impressed would be an understatement the combination of all the products that I have chosen together with the tune gave me better results than I expected, The car was set-up on a rolling road and the mapper spent almost 2 days getting the tune just right as we had a few issues with the VVT Solenoid so this had to be changed.

I will upload the graphs soon and let that do the talking but I can honestly say this is what the car should have been like out of the box.

Quick update:

So Final figures for the car were as follows:
135.4 BHP @ 5400 RPM
134.9lbft @ 4700 RPM

Car revs cleanly to 7000 RPM and I'm chuffed to bits with the results for the modifications that I have done.

Hi Guys,

Been awhile, Managed finally to track down a full Roll Cage and had it installed. Just got to add a quick release steering boss to make getting in and out a little easier and also move the rear harness mountings so the belts wrap around the rear roll cage bar. A few cosmetic touch ups then onto getting some Semi Slicks and it should be ready for it's next track day. :)

One really nice car there! A question: I have seen very badly worn sparcos; these are now 2 years old? How well are they holding on; the seat covers I mean?

TBH I have not driven the car loads, But the seat are mint, I do take car of my cars in general but I have had Sparco seats in the past and never really had any issues.
