As per the version of this post from 2 years ago, I will be taking the board offline shortly to take a backup of the data for migration on to a new server.

The existing server is now out of date operating system wise so I've had a new one provisioned and have built it up ready to run the site.

This will ensure longevity of service, future reliability, server updates and most importantly for me security package updates.

There will be a banner for the duration and I will remove it once running on the new server.

If you are reading this then you have made it to the new server and everything should be fine with the world once more :)

Thank you for your patience and if you notice anything you haven't seen before then please post here (I'm not expecting to as it should in theory be 'lift and shift')

Red...before I forget...can you increase the auto log-out time?

It's too short, if someone is doing a long post and needing to get picture links, etc. they can (and have) easily find themselves in a world of pain and a lost post on 'Submit' by finding they have been logged out.

Top tip for others - Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C on your post before you hit Preview or Submit.

Frank, the maximum time to submit a form is currently set at 2 hours, surely you don't compose a post for longer than that?

Although it does look like there's an hour for session timeout so you'd probably not make it to 2 hours.

Personally it has only happened once to me, when I got distracted by something. But, I do know that some members, esp new ones, have lost massively long posts through that.

Increasing the session timeout to 2 hours should do the trick, I would think.
