First Post guys, be gentle.
The 6000 died on me so decided to replace it with a cheapo double din (times are hard).
Did a load of reading on here before attempting the install. Picked up some ISO leads and pulled out the 6000 to see what I was working with.
Didn't really wanna cut any of the fascia and make the fit as close as I could. I ended up removing the backing cage that supports the heater controls.
I then cut the plastic cross piece.
I then cut the lid off the existing cage which removes the rail at the top. This gave enough clearance to fit the double din unit. The fit is extremely tight and depends on the flex of the cage to hold but is solid.
Happy with the fit, hoping to replace with a full new system in the near future (need to get some welding done first)
Really love everyone's work on here and wanted to contribute.
