I’m in the process of methodically servicing and preparing my 2001 1.7 and one of the many things I have serviced or replaced is the coolant.
Whilst in the process of draining I replaced the thermostat (What a pig of a location, but a discussion for another day) and checked the various coolant pipes and when removing the top radiator hose I was alarmed at seeing some orange sealant inside the hose, clearly there must have been a small leak previously, but really?
I’ve ordered a genuine Ford replacement as no doubt although the pipe looks relatively good, I don’t won’t to suffer a leak after all of this effort!
