Yet another Fiesta ST...

Nothing much to report on the ST front, although I've had to buy a new alloy wheel for the passenger side as the original is a bit bent. Blame pothole alley on the local roads leading to Halton. Luckily I don't have to drive that way anymore.

In other news, I quite like this picture I took...

This is surely the longest you've enjoyed a car for Neil?

No recent, what's next posts

Right... Fiesta goes back in a month or so. Can't be bothered buying then selling it, so will be on the hunt for a replacement soon. It was (and still is) a really fun car, but since I bought it my circumstances changed massively and nearly three hours driving the car daily started to grate on me a little bit. Not the cars fault - it's not made for commuting.

Anyway, criteria:

£10K max budget
No more than 40K miles (doing 17K miles a year so will rack up)
Something without a rock hard ride (again, 17K miles per year, needs to be bearable)
Five doors preferably
Focus - Mondeo sized
Probably diesel powered, but would prefer petrol - needs to do 40mpg ideally.
Has to maintain my interest, so a 1.6 diesel Golf is out.
Doesn't necessarily have to be hot-hatch-y (been there and done that a lot over the last few years and really fancy a change)

Go....

Did you see the review of the new Fiesta ST on Top Gear last Sunday, Neil?

With only 23k miles on my ST in over 5 years I wasn't really looking to change it, but quite frankly after seeing that review I've got the 'I wannas'! The hard ride you describe has been softened. Worth watching on BBC iPlayer...

I did, and I must admit I was tempted. I could do with something larger anyhow, and I really feel like moving away from small hot hatches and the like (especially after owning four pretty much in close succession!)

Really doesn't float my boat I'm afraid. I've never been a fan of this gen of Focus (ST and RS aside obviously).

These are growing on me a lot. Lovely colour and interior. Wish I could stretch to a D3 or D4 though.

Times up on the Fiesta. New car is inbound in a couple of weeks. It's distinctly more sensible, but as my OH keeps reminding me, I'm 35 in a month and not 20 anymore and she does have a point. I fancy something different from small solid hot hatches (pretty much all I've ever owned since passing my test), and this is the polar opposite of that.

It's even a diesel

It sure is!

Kinda like me going from my old Puma skateboard (still visible in some of the forum headers!) to the Mondeo Stuff and Trim oil burner
