Hey guys

I needs some help/advice.
Iv got a puma 1.7 and wanting to fit a lsd. Dose the escort rs turbo series 2 8 bolt lsd fit into the gearbox without any modifications.
If someone could help and shed me some light that would be awesome 😎

Hi Fatboy,

It fits. You will need get about a mm or so shaved of the crown wheel and that is it. When you have the LSD unit, take it with crown wheel out of your gearbox to the machine shop to spin the crown wheel on lathe and the operator will know how much to take out of it. It is not a big job, but it needs to be done. After that press on the new bearings and assemble the gearbox...

series 1 RS fits, but if you can find one you will more than likely need to rebuild it first.
 
It looks like MFactory makes a differential for the IB5 trans.
They are building a decent reputation for lower cost and equivalent quality (or at least good enough) to Quaife.
