of course, when i bought it i ordered metallic paint, ,platinum sound system, air con ,and rear parking sensors.all for £12095,i saved 10% off list price by haggling with the ford dealer! the only mods ive done are a mongoose cat back exhaust and a k&n panel filter.

Sounds like you got an absolute bargain!
I noticed the nice shiny exhaust :)
Where are you from? Possibly come to a meet sooner or later?

stockport, near manchester, and id like to come to a meet sometime, but as i work 7days i would need to take a holiday off work so would need a bit of notice.

Well have a look in the meets section for inspiration. Shows are a great way to see all manner of cars and share ideas : meets are a great way to meet like minded owners and have a 'spirited' drive about some nice roads.

The two big shows of the year are Fiesta in the Park on 18th May in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire and Ford Fair at Silverstone.

Ford Fair preliminary info:

There's also a meet just posted today that will be a good one:

The Leicester Meet is always a very well attended one as well (about 20 cars) in september:

Hope to see you along.

Hi, welcome to the site!

As above, must be great to be an owner since new!

Nice looking motor and some good options to boot!

hi thankyou, when i saw the puma advert for the first time in 1997,i knew i had to have one!!back then it was £14,500 for a basic 1.4!!!!so i saved and saved, and by 2002 i had enough to by a good spec 1.6,it was mine for £12095!the list price actually went down over the production years, mine should have been £13,400 with the options, but i haggled and saved 10%.

1.6 seems to be quite rare, you dont see too many of them. Easiest one to mod by all accounts.

Welcome.

These are great cars, and you notice people snatching a quick glance when your out and about.

Even now they are over 10 years old, they still do have bags of style.

someone the other day said to me,they still look modern, and i agree, you wouldnt think pumas were designed in 1995 and put into production in 1997,the only thing they should change if they was new now, would be to put some nice 17"alloys on as standard, then i recon they could sell them brand new for £15,000,and they could still compete with more modern coupes.

That's why it's also fun with some modern cars, as they are also suprised how much poke the 1.7s have...

;)

16" wheels would be a good compromise I think as I think 15s are too spongy and 17s a bit harsh for the average driver. (Not me though, I like it like a go-cart)
