Fitting a window regulator for a friend . I have a question or two .
( The assembly that moves your Electric Windows )
a) Will I get away with aluminium pop rivets , or do I need stronger steel / stainless ones ?
b) If so any suggestions of where to get them

(Boring Technical) description of symptoms

The fault was the regulator , as a bit had snapped off the green slide .
Here are the symptoms

Attempting to close the window motor moves
(Until metal bits bump roller ) . Window stays still but can be pulled
back up with no resistance from the motor .

Opening window
If window is being held up , motor will pull it back down .

Yet to check health of motor ,but was moving , no weakness in switch

The window appears to move freely in its runners .

Hi Sparkplug

Welcome to the site, nice introduction :eek:k:

As for your issue I think that aluminium pop rivets would be fine.

If you did want something a bit stronger then you can get steel / stainless steel pop rivets quite reasonably at RS:

I hope this helps! :)

Welcome again Sparkplug!

As I said in chat yesterday, I think alloy rivets would be fine.
