Morning chaps
I've just bought a 2002 1.7 puma to.be used on track. Could anyone recommend what mods I should do. Obviously it will be fully stripped lightened.
Many thanks Chris

Hi Chris,

Welcome!

Most people would recommend to start by making sure everything is in good shape. Badly serviced brakes is definitely where I'd start! A well maintained set of standards go so far but then you might find you reach their limits and need to replace them with something a bit bigger. The standard replacements centre around 'off the shelf' Fiesta or Focus setups like the ST150.

A good straight set of wheels and good quality tyres, replace all of the likely perished rubber bushes in the wishbones, top mounts, engine mounts etc etc. This will all make the car feel fresher and less bouncy.

If you're then wanting to go further you could look at suspension setups to make the car lower and more stiff, strut braces for the same reason.
