HI
I have a 98 puma and i am needing to replace the rear shocks, Can anybody tell me if it is worth going for that later rear axle and shocks with the bottom eye or should i stick with my current axle and shocks with the fork bottom??
Any advise would be great.

Thanks Mike

I don't know of any functional difference between the two types, I guess it's easier to stick with what you've got. However if you are going to change it would be a good opportunity to change rear beam axle bushes. If you wanted to future-proof I guess you could choose whichever has best spares availability, I think the eye-type was later type and may have better selection of shocks etc. Although I have seen both types available on eBbay.

I guess it was changed for a reason, but I'm not sure it makes any difference.

Thanks for the advise, i was going to poly bush the beam axle at the same time, i have heard the later type is wider so no need for the hub spacer but don't know if that is true
