One end of ScanGauge cable is normally fitted directly to OBD II connector (located inside Puma, behind left side trim, under flap below petrol “badge”):

OBD II connector (trim removed for clarity):

When just connected, it will protrude and can be “kicked” by feet (trim removed for clarity):

To avoid this happening, I removed part of door seal, pulled back trim, removed 2 hexagon head screws and released the metal bracket holding OBD II connector:

Bracket reversed and 2 screws (cross-head) removed, which were securing OBD II connector bracket to body:

OBD II connector removed from bracket:

Manipulated OBD II connector behind wiring harness and attached ScanGauge connector:

Replaced two bracket crosshead screws and re-attached bracket (saves losing them if needing to reattach OBD II connector later):

Threaded ScanGauge cable behind trim, along footwell carpet (just drops behind top of carpet) and then through under ashtray (easier to do if ashtray is removed first):

Connected ScanGauge and replaced ashtray. Positioned ScanGauge using supplied Velcro (gauge wedges fairly tightly between edge of gearlever trim/console and ashtray hinge), using just loop Velcro at bottom and just hook Velcro at top:

No sign of fitting at OBD II connector site, once trim replaced:

Initially, I tried to fit the gauge inside the ashtray so that I could hide it, but it wouldn't fit, even with all this cut away!

It can be fitted into the ashtray, but it took me absolutely ages! Looks good where you have put it though.

I was going to get one of the Fiesta storage trays, that goes in place of the ashtray, they are available in Midnight Black, and aren't expensive, so would suit your car just fine.

Nice thinking with the relocation of the OBD socket, very neat!

Yup, took a LOT of messing about with the Dremmel though, and the SGII is mounted at a bit of an angle.
