A couple more bits for the weekend. A hid kit (I'm aware they're illegal when fitted without self leveling mechanisms and washer jets) as even with osram nightbreakers it's still dangerous driving at night and some new grease caps for the new drums.

First: top job there!
Second: Once cleaned AND PROPERLY adjusted, puma headlights are actually quite decent even with halogen bulbs. Adjust them properly, and you will be amazed at the difference

These arrived today to replace the original and in poor condition millennium products center caps.

The millennium products center caps are now no longer available, and even more annoying the person I bought the puma off had a full new set and sold them a week after without asking if I'd like to buy them first.

Ok, so Monday evening I attempted the hid install. Everything went smoothly, and straightforward.

Right up until I tried the first one. I'd ordered a 4300k kit and going by the ridiculous blue light I'd say they were 8000k bulbs. This was the passengers side compared to the osram nightbreaker.

Anyway I fit the other one and took it out for a drive to see how bad it was, it was terrible. I contacted the seller and they sent out another set of bulbs, this time the correct 4300k bulbs. I fit them after work this evening and what a difference.

Yeah, I've been meaning to mow the lawn for a while now but more important (and very yellow) things keep getting in the way.

This arrived today, new old stock all the way from Sicily.

I made the wiring loom a few days ago and opted to cut the original ford plug off the temperature sensor as I struggled to find the correct male or female end and used some I had from a while back.

As for the 2 pin connector on the back of the clock I used a spare computer power connector, which was a perfect fit.

I went to trial fit the clock with wiring loom and sensor on the passenger seat this evening, but something I hadn't seen or read anywhere was that the socket on the back is different. I assumed it would be 2 separate plugs and the original would fit as it does on the original clock and a separate for the temp sensor but it appears to be one big plug.

So out came the Dremel and I popped the back off the clock and trimmed the socket area to the correct shape, then plugged it all into test it.

Hopefully I'll get the sensor fitted and wiring routed into the cabin this weekend.

I finished off the new clock install this evening, it was very straightforward with the only tricky bit being removing the grill without breaking the tabs. One thing I will say though is after reading a guide on here the recommendation of 5m of cable is grossly over the top.

A k&n filter element arrived today.

I also replaced the fuel filler cap with one in better condition and less faded.

Great job going on there. Just on a sidenote, I would pick up some head unit with more consistent colour scheme to match it better to the interior....

I know, it drives me nuts with everything being lit up green and the stereo being red and blue. Even so it's a lot better than what was fitted when I bought it, a Kenwood stereo that was bright neon blue and made driving in the dark a pain.

I am looking into a different stereo just struggling to find the right one.

Perhaps something like this?

You can adjust the colour to match it exactly to the interior of the car...

Great work! Just to let you and everybody know, don't how much you have paid for those small bulbs, but you can get them at Osram in bulk of 20 for, most probably, the price of these two....
Keep up the good work!
