Does the fact the hose has been taken off mean it's in for repair?
Kinda. Trying to establish the extent of repair required. It’s not looking brilliant.

Don't loose heart Rob, if you've got bottomless pockets!!

Although not as bad as yours, mine failed the MOT last year.

These are pics are at the beginning of the work, late September 2018:

And, these are the pictures (just for you!!) that I've taken today 26th March 2019:

Thanks, Rick.

Although if even your completely rustproofed one has started corroding again and failing MOTs, what hope do the rest of us have?

I think Pippa may be too far gone. :(

One thing that appears clear, you cannot do rust treatment just once, and assume it will be OK for ever!
My original rust-proofing programming was started in August 2009, and I would think, on reflection, it would be wise to repeat every 5/6 years, to be on the safe side. Now that mine is sorted underneath, I think I will respray Bilt Hamber DYNAX S50 into all the cavities and voids during the Summer, and check all the DYNAX-UB coatings. My Thunder has only done 45,000 miles, so the intention is to have the wheels refurbished and get it up to Nottingham for Chris to do his magic!
You never know, in 10 years time, you could be buying it"!

That sounds like a good plan. If I do end up restoring Pippa, I imagine I will do the same.

I'm going to have the outer sills cut off tomorrow to assess what's underneath and then make a decision about Pippa's fate from there.

You jest, but if I were going to buy anyone's Puma in ten years' time, I'm pretty sure yours would be top of the list, sir!

Aw Rob, I feel for you. I really hope yours doesn't end up going the same way mine did :'(

I'll keep all of my extremities crossed for you!

Ps.... is Pippa still rocking my old boot lid..?
