Tried to search but couldn't find what I am looking for so here goes.

Newbie so in that section too

however

at 6ft 2 I am a bit tall for a puma but ho hum it's good fun.

Are there any aftermarket seats that you recommend that will sit me lower in the car? Seen some on stx etc but don't know if they sit you lower down
within the car.
Also I am not great mechanically. Are they simply bolt in and out?

Cheers

carl

I know Dan fitted some old Recaro seats from a Capri or something in his ages ago and they were really low. He had to make custom frames for them though.

have a look through these you will have to contact them and double check the struff fits or if they are within your range go see them personally

if you need space you will probably need to get a fixed bucket so its lower to the floor of the car which means pasengers will have to get in the other side you can get ones that fold forward but you will have to check the seat and the height of the frame is going to fit id phone and double check before ordering of the net

if you need extra space id go for the lowest seat and subrames lenght ,height and width

Cheers will have to have close look. Want lower seats for sure. Originals not comfy nor supporting so anything an improvement.

Such a great chassis, looks and engine but I think interior is poor.

Sorry for hi jacking the thread, but are there any ford seats that just drop in, without too much faffing about?

you forgot puma black seats which is what i fitted simple fit a few bolts, torx screws and a rachet does the job

have a look for the ford centre (aston birmingham)on ebay they had loads last time i popped in and will post via ebay

So, do the recaro's out of the escorts fit straight in without any messing around?
Got to admit they are a tad cheaper than a set of FRP seats.

They do, but they sit a touch higher than the Puma Millennium seats. Ideally you want to swap to Puma/Fiesta 95-98 runners, whichh are just the same, but don't have the 1/2" lift.

Escort Mk5a are different though, they need Fiesta Mk3.5 runners.

In either case you also need "top hat risers";

These are available from Mk3.5 and pre-99 Mk4 Fiesta, pre-99 Puma, and Mk5b / Mk6 Escort.

Bone question I know, but I need to get my head round this, what parts exactly do I need to slot two recaro seats into my Puma? Ant part numbers? Thanks for the help so far.

Thanks for that, got a part number for the runners per chance?
Any idea where the best place is to get hold of them from?

I don't, all I can suggest is scrap yards, and wanted section on here, zsoc.com, ukfiestanetwork.co.uk and pumapeople.com

Are the FRP seats lower than the standard ones? Presumably they straight swap. (you can tell I really don't get this lol )

A little off Topic but:

I want to fit a set of Fiesta SI seats to my puma. would i need different seat rails and the "tophats" or just the tophats?

I think just top hats, so long as they are from a Mk3.5 (which I think most, if not all Si's were).

If your Puma is a 97-98, you won't need top hats as you will already have them.
