Central locking signal

Hi fellow members.

I'm gathering wiring diagrams ready to install an automatic headlight unit. This unit also turns on the headlights when unlocking the car in the dark.
The control unit has two 'inputs' from the central locking system which are '+' & '-' of which I can only use one.
Does anyone know if the central locking system/signal is positive or negative?
