Hey, my handbrake isn't working good any more and My clutch is about to give (mixture of its age, my limited driving experience being that I still have L plates on, and handbrake/hills etc). I also here the clutch on these things slip quite a bit?

Brakes aren't that good to begin with I think, so I'm thinking of kinda upgrade them but as cheap as possible. My puma is a good bit rusty so I don't want to spend a load on it. What would be the most feasible option, and what donor car?

Think cheap cheap cheap ;) thanks :)

Hi
The clutches on these cars only slip if they are worn and ready for changing.
When that would be depends on its history and how it's been driven.
You can get decent clutch replacement kits fitted for anything between £150 and £350. Make sure the slave cylinder is replaced at the same time.
The brakes, when in good condition, are perfectly adequate for general road use. Especially if you're still on L plates :)
There's plenty of cheap options to choose from, for example, new Mintex front discs and pad set for about £35.

simply giving your brakes a service will improve things. cheapest and easiest
as for the clutch. It`s fooked and needs replacing!!

Thanks guys, I don't mind working on the care. Just wish the rain and wind would stop :)

If you`ve not done a fwd clutch before, be prepared its not £300 in a garage without reason.
you`ll need a few tools and an experienced mate..
