does anyone know if it is possible to refurb the Milly wheels back to their original chrome powder coating - is it a specialist thing or can most powder coaters do it?

No reason why any decent wheel refurb company or powder coater can't do a good job.

Just remember to tell them that it's not the usual bright silver finish, but a few shades darker than the norm.

Have a look at this thread:

I've asked Ford before as to what the colour is and it's not on their system. They'd just match the colour to an existing alloy.

must be a shadow chrome type of paint where the wheels get painted black first then a very fine transparent silver is applied on the top and the more layers that are applied to the desired affect

Are you guys really sure it is a different color? From the picture above it looks just like it is the same color, only the picture of the millenium wheels is taken in a different light. (Maybe in the shadow or with some clouds).
Here in the Netherlands we get a blue equivalent of the mellenium called the century edition. I've owned one and at rhis moment i own a sport edition. The century wheels had the milleniumproducts centercaps and the sport wheels didn't. Had them both next to eachother and they were exactly the same color.
Cant make a picture for you as I don't own the century wheels anymore

Yes, it's a different colour.

(O/H had a Millie so know the difference)

Oke, just to be sure, :eek:k: hope you can refurb them in the good color than. Good luck
