Bought my first Puma a couple of weeks ago - so far so good!!

X reg (late Dec 2000) 1.7 50724 miles black with Luxury Pack - paid far too much money for it (don't ask) but hey you pay your money and take your choice! Good service history along with new discs & pads, 2 new tyres, new back box, cambelt & water pump, power steering pump 12 month MOT & 6 months tax and serviced. A few car park nicks & odd sratch here & there but no rusted wheel arches - I looked at over 20 before buying this so I would describe it as the best of a bad bunch!!

Quite unbeliveable what some people perceive what is excellent / mint condition!! I have heard all the "old chestnuts" got to remember it is x years old and its excellent for the year - I have also a 98 Escort Finesse (which looks similar to a GTi) now imo is very good condition but really is mint in comparison to what I saw for sale in the way of Pumas.

Jobs done so far:
Inner wings removed cleaned up behind small surface rust removed & treated & wax oiled

Properly serviced!! I don't trust ANY garage so changed the oil immediately to the correct 5w/30

S/hand remote purchased off ebay as after testing it was found that the original was faulty - programmed thanks to the How To guide on this site - many thanks

To be done / bought:
coolent change
centre caps on wheels
mats
smoked repeaters
handbrake cover
glove box light (already whipped theo ne off the Escort van at work!!)
change the steering wheel - got to say imo the Puma steering wheel is awful compared to the full leather Escort wheel

No photos as there is little point as it is totally standard car.

Cheers Adrian from Bungay in Suffolk

Welcome along Adrian - sounds like you got a good one there. You may have paid over the odds, but if all the jobs like cambelt etc have been done, then it'll be cheaper in the long run.

Have a good look about - maybe the glove box fitting guide? lol
