After spending the afternoon in doubt, I was surprised to learn that my X-reg 1.7 has just passed its MOT... Thank God!!!

Three previous advisories have disappeared to be replaced with just one:

Offside front Suspension arm rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement [2.4.G.2]

I know it's only one bushing affected, but after labour costs, etc, would it be easier/CHEAPER to get this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=390563202025" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - and use the guide ( http://www.projectpuma.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=8955" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ) to do the work myself?

Many thanks

Yes, it would be easier/cheaper, but consider changing both front wishbones, because in most cases, if rubber bush is faulty in one, then it's not in a great condition in the other. So if you change only one wishbone it could affect handling/steering.
Other option is to change regular rubber bushes to polyurethane ones, that you can fit easily yourself. Theres a guide for a real axel, but the procedure is very similiar with front wishbone bushes:

And the front wishbone bushes are "plastic" on the outside, so it's going to be easier to remove them (compare to rear beam axle ones).
Here's the comparison between standard and polyurethane:

Thanks TastPiotr.

I've read about others on here using the Flo-Flex bushes without any problems (decent enough quality), so I might go for those instead of purchasing the actual wishbones... It'll work out cheaper and I will be selling the car soon anyway.

Can you (or anyone else) tell me if I will be able to get the rear bushes fitted into the wishbones without any problems - eg. will they pop in with ease or will I have to end up getting a garage to do it for me?
